looks pretty heavy duty for light duty rigging monkeylove!
whats your draw to something like that as opposed to say a steel F8 for like fiddy bucks?

Just the ability to strap it to the tree. I already have a Porty, and a big Rescue 8 and way to much other stuff really. But it just caught my eye for that price.

Just an update..Been using this thing like crazy lately. No complaints at all yet. Easy to setup, easy to attach my M.A. pulley system right to the handle for some line tensioning. I can still only comment on how it likes 3/8 & 1/2 rigging lines although I think it would be fine with up to 5/8.

It's hard to grasp the size of it from the photos - can you give us a dimension or two, Frank? I'm guessing the bollard could handle some heavy stuff, but I don't know if you could get it tight enough to the trunk with those little ratchet straps. The big old red Karl Keummerling bollards, which looked very similar to this, had the ratchet permanently attached to the backing plate and came with a 36" trucker's bar so you could really crank it down tight.

Don't bother Frank, that other thread answered all my questions. Musta missed that one somehow. After seeing those photos, I'm more impressed with the bollard, and even more leary of the mounting ratchet straps.
