Arborist go bag.

Gloves in cold I can forgive..but in warm conditions they feel soooo wrong....now back to bags Frank...I am no help....I have too much rope...and gear for just one bag...everything has it's place.....I use a different system for each tree according to work being carried out...I have a very solid north face bag that keeps my hardware and throwlines in...ONLY....reason is I never leave stuff on my harness...I put on only what I will use for a climb...helmets live in a childseat in my truck....I have 2 DMM 45L porter rope bags...one holds 14mm Sirius and 5/8 stablebraid...the other holds 130 tropical ivy and 120 sumac....plus 150 1/2 stablebraid...need another porter bag for my shorter ropes...taller trees I use two ropes.....no help just a ramble....I hate long ropes...so I have various lengths for different sized trees....harness and gaffs sit behind my seat on floor...I hate a harness in a bag as it gets crushed...

That's my issue @swingdude , I love everything in it's place and to have it all ready when needed (Trailer). Keeping a few bags or stuff separate in the truck does not bother me for day to day rec stuff, working I have the trailer in tow. In about a week I am heading down to Myrtle Beach and was thinking about taking some gear. The car is already over packed with 4 of us going so I am trying to put the basics in one smallish package but still have what I might need. I could just stuff us all in the truck but the wife's suv gets twice the mpg that I get.

A vacation or work adventure? The KISS principle would keep it light and minimal. 150' rope with a HC is adaptable to any need. My old school climb kit was my saddle, gaffs, and 150' 3 strand with a blake's. If I had to travel light now I'd switch to a 16-strand with the HC.

I have the Cross Pro bag from Courant and it is really well made. I was surprised by how small it was when it arrived. I had to be creative when deciding what got to go in it. It has a ton of options as far as places to put things, but it is a rather tight fit. I got one pocket with a RR and BDB, on pocket with a friction saver, one pocket with hitch climber set up and extra friction cords, one with safety glasses, gloves, etc., one with additional redirect stuff like micro pulleys, rings, revolvers and loop runners. TM in center main with handsaw, lanyard, sparabiners, and Rope Wrench. Helmet on top exterior and my throwline cube hangs exteriorly. Rope is in separate "matching" rope bag with basal tie and other related stuff. The rope bag clips to the front straps of the gear bag to allow for a very balanced haul if you are "hiking" to the tree. So no spikes, chainsaws or rigging gear, and my stuff is spread across two bags, but I like the set up. I guess I too have quite a few multiscenders but I often use both and depending on the tree I may prefer a Rope Wrench or even back to the Hitch Climber from time to time.

TS rigging rope bucket is my daily set-up. I use a kids plastic sled as a tube to divide and help stand up. 135' rope, hardhat and ditty bag of extras goes in sled sleeve. Two handsaws and throw cube on outside of sleeve. Wrench and couple biners on molle webbing outside. Saddle with lanyard and saw lanyard plus spikes gets carried. The bag isn't even doming out but a longer rope and more extras and it definitely would.

+rope wrench and footie

That was my other option I was looking at along with the 1/4 0r 1/2 domes.
I really like how the cross pro bag folds out like a gear tarp so everything is easily sorted and reachable. But I wish it was bigger...but not. I guess I just want it to be like a Marry Poppins bag - just hold a lot of stuff but stay the same size. But to be fair it does hold quite a lot. I just definitely cannot fit rope or spikes in their with my TreeMotion. The TM is a bulky harness though.

Just received my Tteufelberger "rope bucket, kit bag." Let me say one thing ..... it's fckin HUGE! I ordered the 80 liter and it was on back order. I was going to switch to the 50 liter but I didn't. When I got it I almost wanted to send it back for the 50. The bag is HUGE! Then I thought about it. I got this bag for my deployment bag and my current military surplus bag is tight with saddle, gaffs, 3 lanyards and a pair of friction savers. Oh and my 65-70' climbing rope. Now I can fit that, a 16-2trand and 24-strand(11.7) 150' climbing ropes. Hand saw, loopie/OMNI block combo, and more. Problem is it's way easy to over load. So my "extras" will be separated in ditty bags as previously mentioned. Its nice to be able to leave the unneeded ditty bags in the truck when that big bag needs to go on a diet.

120 feet of calamine, hitch climber combo with rope wrench, triple ring sling, 100 feet of rigging line, petzl pantin, Kong futura with foot loop, 6 stitched slings with carabiners. Saddle and lanyard, helmet, arm chaps. Handsaw. My day to day backyard pruning kit.

That 80L bags is huge, I've heard so many guys say the same thing. "I can fit everything, but I can't pick it up"

Drewtree, what bag is that?

Thanks, that is other bag I heard can get to heavy to lift.
It's also a piece of shit, the only reason I'm using it is because my Rope bucket got stolen. It falls apart immediately, the zipper pouch stitching will blow out immediately, for no reason, seconds after you leave the store, the mesh will snag and rip off, the flimsy little snaps that attach the harness to the bag will all open up and snap off within a couple weeks, the bag crumples in on itself in an effort to either swallow your arms as you try to use it, or prevent rope stowing entirely. I have nothing good to say about it really.

I am trying to pick a bag to make my go bag with. I obviously have a trailer full of stuff for set jobs or major work when I need it. I just loaded my Conterra Reach but it is too small for everything I think I need with me 100% of the time. Any suggestions for big enough but not ridiculously sized bag.

Here is my list, criticism is welcomed.
200 ft 11.7
RR
ZZ
Akimbo
Lanyard
12 Biners
3 Pairs of gloves
Onyx
Protos
Climbing shoes
A few prussik cords
Pulley Saver (friction saver)
Saka
Chest harness (Swings)
Throwline kit
Handsaw
3 Head wraps

Any 70 liter haul bag will do. Metolius is nice. It'll fit all your stuff and pack to about 50lbs for airplane travel.

Frank, tactical backpack. 80-90$ at army surplus store. This is what I keep
120' vortex / 150' Luna
Multicender
Hand/knee/foot ascender
Extra lanyard
rR friction saver
Throw cube
Rope wrench
Webbing slings
Biner, snaps
Extra prussics and redirects
And I probably forgot stuff. The bag is 6 years old now been working with me for 4 and the only things broken are buckles I closed the toolbox doors on
