Great plan for hiring a quality individual and very well laid out. Honest up front about what you want and what you don't want.
Sounds like a fun. And the pay for a qualified person... Where it should be in this industry! It's great to see a business owner taking the time to be innovative, I mean a video job posting. If wasn't in the position I'm in right now I would consider this more closely.

The video should accomplish a lot of screening in many ways. I'll talk about it after someone is hired. It will push a lot away, even piss off a lot of people....... shouldn't talk about it right now though.

For what's its worth, not sure if he meets his deadline, (and feel sorry I said this so late), David is a great guy doing great tree Work with great equipment. I visited Arbor x and learned/ absorbed a lot in a couple days.
He has the means to keep someone working, job security isn't an issue.

@frashdog; Just guessing, I'm thinking that the X-man might have thought that his list of requirements that eliminate so many from contention might be something folks would be mad about. Truth is, all he is doing is not wasting his time, or the time of others, and nobody is offended by this.
