ARBOR WHERE? a.k.a "goodbye sherrill tree & arborwear"

Carhartt told the mill that made the cotton duck for their clothes as well as a different recipe cotton duck
For
The original AW pants that CH would take their business elsewhere if the mill...US based...continued selling to AW. Can't blame the mill when the big order company gives that sort of ultimatum

Strong Arming must be taught in MBA school since it's such a common practice

In the end, AW regrouped...changed direction...and has become better

My 1990's era Carhartt jacket sill lives on to this day. My 2014 on is pretty much unwearable already. It is junk in comparison. In this case they are both labeled as "Made in the USA" as part of their lineup that is still made here. I bought it partly because the company was based in Detroit, and partly because the durability of the first one.

I can't win for losing. Sometimes the local products are no better than the ones from anywhere else. Maybe that textile they were protecting was too good. Work coats that don't wear out don't need to be replaced.

I used to go to great lengths to buy USA made or at least 1st world products. Often expensive and sometimes impossible but I felt good about not giving my money to companies who valued money over everything else. If I couldn’t find it made in USA I’d often choose to buy it used so the money would not go over seas.
Maybe 8 yrs ago Xtratuffs got bought by Honeywell and they closed the plant in Maine or wherever and sent it to China. Boots last half a season instead of 5. Sad times friends

Ok, I was wrong. CDN brokerage fees ended up being the shipping mishap. Sherrill Tree Forgive Me! Thanks @mot0252 for approaching me and offering to help. As for the arborwear, the sweater is decent quality and would buy another, I just wish they could be made somewhere closer to home.
