Anyone try this clip?

Location
Wisconsin
I've had about 3 of those clips, and just like the petzl it will break in time if you use it as a chainsaw clip in.

Same thing same problems, to weak to hold up our tough working environment.

It's perfect for attaching extra slings biners and other crap ;-)

Climb safe

By the way, I prefer to use them upside down, makes it a lot easier to clip and unclip ;-)

I use the big petzl one for chainsaw clip in nowadays and that one doesn't break even not with a MS 880 hanging from it ;-)

why plastic? is it lighter? knot shore where your D rings are,, mine are very close to where i hang my saws///i really make an effort to keep non rated stuff away from my hips,, if you quickly "buck strap in " and land on a plastic accesory hook, i wood rather SIDE LOAD< ya i said it;;;a aluimnon non locker than a piice of plastic,, how many times have you CLIPPED in to your sweatshirt? well thats my story,

There was a story here on the buzz about someone clipping into a caritool. It is something to consider. Personally, I use the large caritool for my saws, I've had the same one for about four years now and it's still good. I mostly prune so I don't hang big saws on it much but it has handled a 440 lots of times without flinching.

Shoot I thought this one might be better, normally I use the Al biners but I liked how this one is flat and smaller. I keep my clips around 6-8 inches from my lanyard D rings, so I've never been too concerned with accidental clipping, but I should make sure I pay attention now! I think I'm going to make a flat metal clip so it doesn't go sideways on me. if its cool I'll post it up, unless anyone knows of something like this?

The thing about accidentily clipping in to a caritool or whatever is unreal.
First thing you check when lanyarding in is if the carabiner on the side d's is well clipped in and sits normal on both sides.

The same with the main climbing system, check check and every time you switch over from lanyard to climbing system and vise versa you check everything. Doens't matter how long it takes or how many times it needs to be done, it's your safety it's your life and if you accidentilly clip into the wrong spot, you must notice that and make sure that your eye's follow what your hands do ;-)

Just a case of getting used to some good working practice.......

Just my 2 cents

Agree with you treestyler, check and check. Becomes second nature. Hey that's a lovely tree in your avatar CAMBMX by the way. Nice branch structure. Caritools work for me can't see them braking unless hooking into a branch on descent or some suce unatural occurance.

First time I ever seen the, "Irish Branch Walker Jig". lol

"bacou-dalloz" the company that makes the Butterfly Harness used to have a nice metal chainsaw clip with a flat back that kept it from rotating on the harness webbing.
