Anyone know where to rent a legitimate spider lift in MA/RI? Something 60' or over

Still pretty stubborn about remaining a climber centric company. I am persistent, but realistic. Have an uncharacteristically large pruning job coming up. Lots of dead-wooding and structural pruning on medium sized trees and a lift would be extremely handy. Have rented tow behind 50' lifts previously for such occasions, as they seem to be the tallest locally available lifts that aren't extremely heavy. I use my mini to push them around and seems to work well though the height is limiting.

Anyone have a line on something rentable that was designed for the tree industry in MA or RI? I know Ricks in PA rents them, but it's just too far. Only need it for a week. Thanks!

Find someone with Nifty Lift SD series (64 is an awesome unit). They're bigger than spider lifts so don't exactly get in the same places, but the reach is better and they move around and reset fast. They're more common thru rental companies
 
Check out United Rentals, they usually rent a 75’ Teupen, and they have locations all over. Sunbelt Rentals may be able to help you too, they have a lot of locations as well.
 
Around here united and sunbelt only carry towbehinds and the heavy lifts that don't use outriggers. Vermeer Midwest recently started carrying a lift that they sell and rent. Vermeer, at least here, rents for a minimum of one week.
 
What about one of those lifts on large tires? I’ve seen those used occasionally for tree work, and I think a few are over 60’.
 
That's the heavier lifts that I was referring to. I've used those lifts for several years doing commercial and industrial electrical work. They are steady and have the added benefit of not having to come down to change setups, but watch for potholes.

Biggest issue is most rental stores would want to deliver it, the one time I looked into it years ago it was $500 for delivery and pickup plus the rental fee. And they are not particularly turf friendly
 
I'm in MA and have yet to find a place that rents actual spider lifts. I've used the Nifty Tow Behind Lift before on a job. It was light enough that 2-3 of us were able to push it around on the job site into different positions without having to move it with a truck.

There was one place I had found I can't remember the name off the top of my head, they had lifts on tracks that were basically similar to spider lifts but they wanted some ridiculously high price over a thousand dollars a day to rent them. Unless you’re doing a $3k-$4k or more job you could basically just be losing money.

As for United Rentals, they have lifts on tracks that look similar they call them Compact, but they never have them available in the area. I don't know if they would have them available where you are. They also have the lifts on wheels and tow behind, etc.

I would be interested to hear if anyone in the area knows of a place that rents actual lifts designed specifically for tree work (spider lifts, etc.)

New owners will spend between 2 to 4 weeks before they become experts with their unit. 4 days period is short but you will have a good glimpse. 2 tips: 1- to reach out, raise lower boom maximum half the height, then use upper telescope all the way out before you raise lower boom; 2- keep tracks 18 inches off the ground. I expect that we will be fumbling with it and won't be able to use it to its full potential in the four days. I appreciate the tips and will be in touch. Mind pming a rough price just for curiosity's sake?
 
Better. In order to get some pricing, the best way would be for you to fill the Build Your Own for the unit(s) you want. It is located on the right of all lifts listed in this page: https://upequip.ca/compact-tracked-lifts/
There are a few models and fo some reason, the 87-48 seems to have the most popularity in your area.

taller the better. Not in a position to buy one presently. Just wanted to figure out a price per hour it would cost me to run it/how much I could make on it. I'm going to guess 125 for the 70. 175 for the 87. Might be a little low but that's enough for me to do some figuring. Either way I'm excited to try one out. Cheers

I think that’s a bit high
$100k for a 72
$135-140 for a 87
I would imagine
It’s about the same on all of the backyard lifts
