Anyone know where to find a chipper like this one. It's an Altec DC12 from like '96/'97. Seems like it'd be a real good small chipper for someone just starting out. I've used one a little and I really liked it.
try to find a Mitts and Merrill. You can start out your biz with it, then upgrade to a bigger chipper... keep the M&M for the little jobs/back-up unit.
I ran across a WoodChuck chipper in Coatesville PA when I was up for the splicing symposium in MAy at Longwood. It is about 2 miles from my brother's house. I stopped and asked trhe price, guy was asking 3K but you could probably get it for something less.
yeah california tree has one for sale right now but it sounds like it needs an engine rebuild. The chip ejection is a bit of a pain but I think more so on a larger chip box. I think it's not that big a deal if you're runnin' a small chip truck too.
