Anyone else give-up on routine "friction-saver" usage?

There’s some excellent feedback there. It’s really a train wreck reading that nonsense. I just hope that kind of mentality is an aberration and not a sign of how that generation of tree-workers-to-be are going to approach their first years in the industry. I feel like a general grasp of reality and consequences, not to mention common sense, is going by the wayside for people of all ages and backgrounds these days.

Man I was reading his posts over there and I think you are really right. It sounds just like him. I've talked to him a little in a private chat just trying to help him blend with the community but guess that didn't work. :P I'm not on that forum. How's that one? Might have to join check it out. Doubt it could get any better than treebuzz though :p

He has posted on Tree Life on Facebook also sorry don’t know how to post a link

...in fact I've never climbed it in my life, am planning to try sometime soon because, well, why not, but am able to limbwalk and up/down about as quickly as I could want with SRT so don't see much point...
I've considered training someone of my newer guys in just SRT and then showing them Ddrt techs later. Do you feel like this has hindered you in any way? Any concepts that seemed easy for other people to get that gave you trouble later on?

How long have you been climbing and in what capacity at your company do you climb? (i.e. primary/lead climber, apprentice climber, just pruning, etc)
