Another Sliver Maple removal...

Looks like nice balmy weather.

The fishpole rigging shots are cool.

That tree looks like it was in serious decline... it wasn't dead was it? ...I'm kinda skeered of dead maples these days.

Thanks guys. Blinky, the tree was very much alive but in major decline it being centered in middle of campus made it a serious liability. I try and use the(fishpole)technique every chance I get not only does it distribute the forces throughout the system but everything is already set up to go in sequence.

Cool pics, thanks for posting. Does that wood end up as firewood? And what's that crazy white stuff on the ground?

You all do rock. By the way, Jeremy, TJ (aka magicmarmotB) passed his arborist exam. I know you'll pass if you remember the date for the next test

That is awesome, TJ (aka magicmarmotB). Congratulations. I guess 7th and 11th do kinda sound alike....

Jeremy, After next week, we should have the back of the shop painted (floor), a splicing table set up, and a woodstove. Hopefully, we can get organised enouh to have splicing/ climbing technique nights every several weeks. You should take a field trip down to Louisville if you ever get a chance-
nice avatar by the way.
