@JontreeHI also known as Jon Matych died yesterday in a logging accident in Michigan. Apparently a snag fell and hit him killing him instantly. He is survived by his parents, his wife Zoe, and their three kids.

I worked with Jon Matych on many job sites and always appreciated who and how he was. He was just one of those people that was fun to be around. He was always trying to improve his systems and be better at what he did in the craft.

As I learn more, I’ll let you guys know.

That is devastating news on so many levels. Though, regrettably, I never met Jon in person, I still considered him a friend for over a decade through the buzz. We just had a lengthy conversation a few months ago when he told me his fam had a new baby. Damn the gods in this cruel world.

John was great to talk with here on the buzz. He sent me a couple freebies years ago and told me to do the same for someone else down the road as payment. This hurts.

So sad to hear about. Take time to smell the roses, friendly visit, sip of wine break your diet, you never know what's around the corner. Condolences.
