Another 800BILLION DOLLAR ROAD TO NO WHERE,

Senate Just passed another 800b dollar road to nowhere, wow and they thought that the bridge to nowhere was bad this is a superhighway paved in gold. No thanks to Collins,Snow, or Specter. The Chinese are having a hayday now they can open the best wine and have a toast to finally getting more money an more control over the us market congrats. I would like to thank the Senate and the House for leaving my children 60-70% tax rates in order to pay our debts back. Screw Bush and Obama there screwing us right down the river. This stimulus is not going to do jack.

What is it with you guys? Can you not see beyond blacks, guns, and deregulation? AMERICA IS IN TROUBLE. Big trouble, and it's time to invest in the future. Not the next fiscal quarter, but the future of our nation.

Why is it a black and white issue, sir? NOONE has mentioned blacks vs. whites besides YOU!

Deregulation is the downfall of this country, banks, electric utility, mortgages, etc etc!

Invest in our children and grandchildren paying off this debt for their entire lives? We should have gone much slower with this and thought it out. maybe even a few people should have READ the ENTIRE 1100 page bill?

"Deregulation is the downfall of this country, banks, electric utility, mortgages, etc etc!"

That's precisely what every single Republican ran a campaign on, did while in office, and we're stuck bailing-out the entire mess. Deregulation. They promised to push it and shove it down the world's throat and they did.

Now you're incessent complaints about tying executive bonus package limits to the bailouts granted, setting-up and restructuring Wall Street from scratch, police the Enron's and Morgan Stanley's to accountability, and get America working again because the corporate giants won't...

You're such a functional link to America's failure you seem to be imploding on the insanity of it. What's worse is that instead of accepting your role and any awareness it has to this fiscal depression, you're lobbing one whine after the next about maybe a few of your own dollars might be diverted in helping clean it up. There should be a responsibility test given to all taxpayers and one's like you who don't grock to reality and profitted off the war and other Bush boondoggles should be forced to pay for ALL of this, instead of us innocents who told you so, eight and four years ago.

There's a degree of suffering in all this, just hope you have to deal with at least a lot of jobless American's turmoil and sacrifice.

I am not saying what Bush did was right, but neither was what Clinton did 12 and 16 years ago!
Deregulation never helped us, EVER! That was my point. And it wasnt Bush who deregulated the mortgage co.s, he and the GOP wanted stricter standards. Barney Frank and his Liberal cohorts did the loosening of standards there.

First of all de regulation is not totally what got us into this mess. De-regulation is merely a small cog in the machine. deregulation is good in the fact that if you have too much regulation it costs too much to do business, does not allow for competition, and stifles growth, after the deregulation happened it created one of the largest explosions of new jobs we have ever seen in this country,it prevented one company from having monopolies. (side note that Commonwealth edisons CEO was Thomas ayers, Bill Ayers father) that being said there has to be SOME regulation or you will have greed and corruption such as there was (i.e enron) however this was not the governments fault enron fell because if people are cooking the books it is very hard to prove unless it is a tangible item of which electricity is not. Over regulation is not good and total deregulation is not good either (balance)
Second it is not corporate Execs that caused this mess either it was there Board of directors that chose to give those guys there salaries based on the return on investment and the people that should be out raged should not be the average american it should be the shareholders the ones who have a stake in the actual business.
Third: Clinton singed an act that forced fanny and freddy to give risky loans because everyone deserves the american dream a home. Well you know what work your butt off and you will earn the american dream it should not be given to anyone.
Fourth There is nothing in that stimulus packages that fixes any of this. I challenge anyone to show me where the root of problem is being addressed. If we produced 8million jobs what happens when the money runs out unless the fed fundamentally changes the way it does business, unless the car companies, banks, ect fundamentally change the way they do business they will still go under and all of because of the precedent of the government bailing out everyone and there brother where does it end. the way it is going the government is the end all be all for all. That is called communism/socialism and has never worked. If we want to kill the growth of our economy lets just socialize everything. The government has already proved that they cant run jack sh@t, repub or dem and we want them to run more wow stupid is as stupid does

You going to defend your statements in other threads, or ride the coattails of Oak? Like calling me a racist?

[ QUOTE ]
I don't think you're a racist at all!

But I'm starting to think you're anti-American, being you wish this rescue fails.

[/ QUOTE ]

Where did I say I hope it fails? I said i think its a terrible idea! I hope it succeeds and you can all say I TOLD YOU SO!!! i really dont think we can afford to borrow more money. and I REALLY dont think this will work, but I am optimistic.

I do think H is an idiot though either way.

Oak

You shouldnt put words in peoples mouths. never said H caused this! Where did that come from?

I feel Clinton started this HUGE ladnslide with his every american should own a home, and taxing the hell out of us. he then closed military bases which cost billions to reopen.

Bush just pushed the bus off the cliff, while it was rolling. Instead of throwing a chock block under the wheels.

I don't have to shove any words into your mouth, you're doing a fine job as it is!

"Heck of a job Brownie", then "We'll rebuild this city no matter what it takes".

When will you righties learn to not insert foot (hoof) into mouth (piehole)?
