amsteel blue spider legs

This is just like the 4-legged stool problem. On a slightly uneven floor (EVERY floor), the legs are unequally loaded, and it is possible for the entire load to be on just 2 legs. With 3 legs and a centered weight, even on an uneven floor the 3 legs will be very nearly equally loaded.

unless there is something I'm missing in what you are saying, I don't agree with you yet.

Did you see that word, "yet". I'm letting you know that I could be wrong and I'm willing to discuss more.

I will start another post on this and leave this one about amsteel.

don't have time right now, but I was thinking about this while driving around today and I still think that I could roll a three sling load much easier than I could roll a 4 sling load.

I will draw examples.

I am being quite civilized here.

... 3 is not mathematically stronger than four, but... due to the fact you can accidentally weight just two of the sling legs. in a three leg bridle this is not possible.

Well, then! Why didn't you say so the first time?

Hmm... I wouldn't have thought of it like that. I'm glad you explained that.

And yes Ed, I think that was Thomas!

I think it all depends on the senerio and what the intentions are. If you are using multiple legs, lets say 4...Three might cary the majority of the weight but the 4th could keep the pick from rolling and not have as much weight but is still important to limit movement and decrease potential shock loading.
