I don't usually solicit the prayers of others, but this is something that I can't help but post.

My boss' son Alex was assaulted last night and is in a coma with severe brain damage. The prognosis is not good. I want to ask the tree people that I know and care about to pray for peace of mind for the George family, and to give them strength through this terribly dark time.

This news came to me just as I was getting to the park today for the Masters Challenge. All I have been able to do today is think about Alex and his Family.

I'm very sorry to hear of the tragedy that befell Alex. I'll keep him and his family in my thoughts. I'll be thinking of you and your crews as well. It's tough to stay on your game with something like that being in the forefront of your thoughts. Be doubly careful.

Alexander was pronounced dead this morning at 4AM.

Alex has had a tough life, and many times, it seemed that he was on the wrong path, a path to self-destruction.

In the last two months, he had turned himself around, started working with Heartwood again, and looked healthier than I can ever remember.

The positive thing is that Alex never knew what hit him. He was essentially brain-dead before getting to the hospital.

The funeral will be on Thursday, and I will get an address for cards and flowers if anyone is interested in letting the Georges know you are out there.

Alex was 25.

Alex was one of our employees, and a brother to all of us here. This news has shut our company down for today, and we are all taking time to remember our friend and brother Alex.
