A spray bottle that lasts?

Serf Life

Been here much more than a while
Location
Maine Island
I get the gallon jugs of pb blaster and have gone through 4(?) spray bottles in the past yr or so. Rattle cans die in the winter and we use lots of product here in coastal, salted roads rustville... The pb brand one lasted a while but all seem to get munchilated by the chemicals pretty quick. Each bottle was labeled as chemical rated or whatnot. Currently using a simple green bottle I emptied out but trigger doesn't pop back 100% of the time.

Also want to test thinning or heating fluid film and applying with a garden pump sprayer vs the compressor setup for a change if anyone has played with that?

I use FF and I do heat it up before filling the sprayer can and keep the gun/ can warm in a pot of hot water rather than setting it down if I'm moving around while spraying an underside winter coat. I use FF's spray rig and compressor though. Gave up on Blaster cans cuz they always plugged on me anyway. The aerosol cans of anything pretty much have to be kept indoors at RT and I found pressure lasts only about third to half a can before it has to go back indoors. Even a spray gun has to be cleaned up after spray session with this stuff as it'll plug up a gun. I just use hot water and soap (always wondered if solvent would be better).
Judging by the salt damage I see on chippers all over, I wonder why chipper mfgrs don't use gal more or more guys don't spray their chippers either. Rust never sleeps . . . .

Check out Kleen-Rite, they sell spray bottles that can handle a variety of strong car wash chemicals. Maybe they have something that can handle PB Blaster? A phone call to them should be able to give you an idea.

Ordering a couple from them @Reach, tons of neat stuff on their website too. I use that basic setup @Boomslang which works well but not the most pleasant crawling under gear trailing an air hose... Definitely prefer that style for painting though vs the top feed hvlp.

Tip for fluid film, get a cheap hot plate and an old glass coffee pot itll keep it warm between refills, used to do it with older enamel paint for cars too.

There is a lot of cool stuff there. We get all our truck washing supplies there, it helps that they are only 40 minutes from our shop. Saves on shipping because we can pick up at the warehouse.
