It's a great place just ask Mark C. Burlington county NJ is only a short jot to just about anything you want to do, beach, state parks, anything in the bucks or philly area, nascar should be here in a year or 2. North Jersey sucks donkey sack, but, middle and south are a great place to live.

"Greater Boston as a commuting region includes six Massachusetts counties, Essex, Middlesex, Norfolk, Suffolk, Plymouth, and Worcester, all of Rhode Island and parts of New Hampshire"

...We're really talking about the same thing here, just slightly different perspectives.

Thanks for your replies, I figured the northeast would be more conscientious of proper tree care.

Anyone know much about Loveland Colorado? Looks like cost of living is very affordable there. Gateway to the Rockies.

We have a new guy coming in from CO in March, so I assume there'll be a job vacancy at his place of work, which is a municipal job... Not sure of the exact location, though. Somewhere West of Denver I think.

Lived my whole life in Colorado except for a few years in Boston. (And BBull and others from the N.East are right, its the greatest place because there is so much to do + see up there). But there are arborist jobs here, especially for climbers. Just not so much this time of year. Many companies are only running skeleton crews right now. You'll also be surprised at how few trees there are here; get outside of Loveland,or any city limits, and it is high plains prairie. Lots of work in the mountains in the summer though. Millions of acres of beetle kill pine that need culling before one lightning strike lights this place up in an inferno.

why move? don't you think you serve a better purpose fighting the good fight right where you are? who will speak for the trees then? at least you bringing another argument to the table! don't quit. keep you head up post ads that say "do you want your tree's to look like this or this" i think you business will pick up tremendously. i've been working in a lot of small town about an hour outside memphis lately because the customers find out i truly know about tree care and feel passionately about it and that their trees are more beautiful because they trusted me. keys to success= charge for your estimates and reason that your time is just as valuable as theirs ie doctors and lawyers charge for their opinions and education you should too take the estimate fee off the back end price. do what you say ie make your customers smile bring them a cake or a thank you card in the south this goes alongggggggg way especially with the old money in town. advertise in two or three different towns and add travel cost to the bids. bottom line stay right where you are and fight the good fight. the trees and the customers need you.

ALASKA!! I've been all over the US except the Southern US., Eastern Europe amd Central America.(I favor the tropics) But nothing beats Alaska!
