A big thank you to the Longwood Gardens arborists

About a month ago I finished a 1 year arborist internship with Longwood Gardens. The 5 arborists there really took me under their collective wing and showed me the right way to perform tree care. Pruning, removals, stump grinding, bucket work, even Christmas light install and maintenance. They showed me a variety of climbing techniques and equipment and made sure that I would be ready for a job at a tree care company. Thanks to them, I'll constantly be trying to improve myself as a climber.

So thank you to Big Me, M-Dogg, K-wizzy, Popeye, and Skippy. You taught me so much, helped me become a better person, and gave me lots of stickers. For that I will always be grateful.

If you know someone at a 2 or 4 year school that wants to learn about what it takes to work in the tree care industry, tell them to check out Longwood Gardens. They wont get a better "on the job" experience.

Nice! What a great place to have an internship. My cousin lives in Avondale so we visited the garden last time we saw them. Amazing collection of trees!

Got a kick out of their "IPM" techs. No free lunch, sorta....

Thanks for the kind words Andrew, your welcome back anytime! That goes for anyone going through the area, just let us know and maybe we can meet up.

I'll let the other guys know you gave us a shout out! Much appreciated.

-Tyler
(not sure if I'm Popeye or Skippy!)

Haha right?! I'm trying to figure out who is what nickname. Everyone I've met so far is a stand up guy and they know their stuff.

Mini me,
thanks for the shout out. We laughed, we cried, we learned to never get an intern from Alabama ever again. And you stole my google login name. Of course I kid.

Anyone interested in internships, we are always happy to have good personnel that can stay a full year so if you're interested, PM me and we can try to work things out.

Best of luck li'l fella!

Congrats on finishing your internship Andrew! Nice meeting you and working with you the few days I volunteered with you guys last Christmas...

You're right - that is quite a great group of guys. Hope you get off to a good start with a career in the industry.

-Robert H.
