Dts everyone knows what’s to be expected when they shop at the stealer-ship...and if we don’t like it we save our penny’s, throw down to buy it out right as rick has done. Don’t forget too that he who shows up with Benny’s gets it for less than asking price. Everything is OBO in the private sale world.

Credit is for suckers.... we the suckers that fall for the payment plan and the suckers that drain the life outta us for taking on that debt. The fact that we are dumb suckers doesn’t doesn’t make us any better then them who are the scum suckers.

Sorry rick but all I see there is a $15,000 tune up.

Life is short guys. Don’t be a sucker.

I understand all of your point of views, and I am not trying to convince you of anything. The facts remain that I will continue to buy and resell to those whom are interested in what I have to offer. You can point out what I paid for something and in the end if someone wants it, they will buy it from me. Reason is simple. I have it and they want it. That's how business works. I can take payment from a smiling customer, or a bitter one if necessary. The collection of machines I have is unrivaled in the country when it comes to used tree equipment. I take pride in taking the best used machines off the market in less than 24 hours. That's my skill set, and I am not being cocky, I am simply stating facts as I see them. Everyone hates me until they have something to sell, or want something that I have. Respectfully, I invite anyone to prove me wrong. ricksequipmentsales.com

I see nothing wrong with buying low and selling high. I buy stuff all the time just because it is a good deal. Some I keep but a lot I tend to flip for a profit.

What I don't understand is someone going on a public forum as a business owner with a piss poor attitude in front of the audience you want to target with your advertising. I would save your money here because my mind is already made up after reading your posts.

Agreed and I realize that it’s not likely that anyone in this thread will turn into customers. But the truth is I really don’t care . I am pretty well off at this point in my life, and my dignity is worth more than losing a few sales prospects. Although I make a lot of money selling machines right now, I mainly do this for the excitement it brings. The world is huge and this forum is a spec in the universe. My attitude is not piss poor either. It’s extreme confidence. I see no reason to sugar coat my situation when someone decides to challenge me. If anyone was offended by reading my comments, start over and read it again knowing that my comments are all factual and not meant to be sarcastic in anyway. This isn’t the first debate I have had like this and I don’t expect it to be the last.

You see it as extreme confidence. I see it as unprofessional and a view into what someone would deal with if there is ever an issue after the sale. Everyone deals with customers who are a pain in the rear but most of us would not stay in business if we call them idiots, stupid and

I wish you nothing but the best of luck Rick. You seem to have a good system in place for finding nice looking equipment. The money is made when you purchase, not when you sell.

The guy I called an idiot is not a customer, therefore the rules of professionalism don’t apply. He’s an internet troll and will be dealt with accordingly. I give respect to those that show respect to me. And you are correct, more than half of the time, the money is made on the buy.

Got to love the new breed of tree equipment peddlers ask them a question about a piece of equipment they are selling and you get answered in a riddle or a stupid comment. If you say anything negative they delete it,delete you, call you names and even threaten you. But who am I to question true PROFESSIONALS.

You asked no questions. You made deragatory comments out of the gate. As for deleting, if your dumb enough to make a stupid comment in my own tree page, then I guess your dumb enough to wonder why it was deleted.
Truth is your just bitter because you see that I’m going to make money buying and selling something without doing what you have to do today. The machine I bought for 35k has 500 hours on it. I’m pretty sure we all know 50k is a fair price for that machine since it’s about 80k to replace right now.
If I posted negative comments on your Facebook page that were unfounded, I’m sure you would want to delete them too. Grow up and learn how to mind your business Mr. DTS.

That’s a heck of a check list Rick. I buy, use and sell some equipment. Not nearly as much as you, and I cannot provide financing. But I may steal your list to use for my maintenance teams use. I’m not your competition. Is that ok with you?

No problem. If you give me your email I’ll send you the files for skid steers, stump grinders, chippers, and mini X.

I would like to reply to to this as I personally have purchased a Chipper from Rick and or his company.. (Disclaimer) I am simply stating facts of the sale and the current situation and my actual personal experience from purchasing a USED chipper from A&A.. I would like to make clear the the contract I signed to purchase a USED chipper stated No Warranty expressed or implied which I understood and agreed to..
1. Stated Chipper 2005 bc1800xl winch John Deere 6068 170hp 2450hrs
2. THE GOOD... Very Good communication, very professional businesss conversations and low pressure sales.
3. I felt like it was a fair deal for our company.
4. Chipper was delivered as described.. with the exception of new knives.. But was serviced and fairly asteticly clean. All New Napa gold Filters which is pretty decent stuff.
5. For the most part Chipper ran and worked very well for 5 1/2months..
6. THE BAD
7. The hour meter never worked from the day we received it so not sure how many actual hours are or were on the machine
8. Chute teeth were worn out in the direction of the truck so it would wonder all over the place knocking out the lights and spraying chips outside the truck... had to replace chute right away.. If there truly is a detailed inspection I believe this a fairly important part of standard operation and should have been found during inspection and repaired, replaced, or disclosed before sale
9. 5 1/2 months after purchasing the chipper we had (out of the blue) what we thought was a clutch problem.. meaning (while chipping) the clutch began smoking and would not disengage.. and poor timing would have it that the last piece of wood on the job just went through 4 seconds before it started smoking.
So we had 2 options in the panic mode we were in 1) let it burn down or 2) throttle it down to idle and shut it off
We throttled it down to Idle and shut it off causing the pto input spline shaft to sever.
Send it to be repaired.. well this is where the fun in buying used equipment really starts.. come to find out the pto and clutch that is on the machine is some Chinese aftermarket deal After measuring clutch, input shaft and pretty much the whole pto we find out that what was on there is for the 115 Perkins not the 170hp Deere.. after inspecting the input spline shaft it was clear it had been partially broken for some time as there was a lot of oxidation and rust 1/2 through the break and clean new metal through the other half ... so after about 4 plus grand of oem vermeer parts and service it’s all back the way it’s supposed to be.... idle is fine.. spin it up to full throttle and 75 seconds later it throws the #1 rod through the block... I hear that’s what you might call a catostrophic failure.. we are lucky the didn’t kill someone.. after tear down the only conclusion the Deere folks figure is that the crank, journal, and or bearing on the #1 cylinder was damaged when it shut down.. Solution.. Buy a brand new bandit from our dealer the next day and get back to work..
Sorry for the long post but I hope our misfortune helps someone make a more informed decision when calculating the potential monetary risks of buying a used chipper especially if you are a small company .Again I believe the issues and problems we had with our chipper were for the most part unforeseeable by Rick or his company and just a bad draw in the risky business of buying a used chipper.. he and his company seem like alright folks...

I know I don't have many cards in my hand yet, and as a guy just getting a small business off the ground and starting with little more than nothing... I can say that I appreciate these types of places. There's absolutely no way I could go buy a new truck and chipper, so places like a&a taking a chance on the little guy with financing nice newer equipment is genuinely respectable. If it costs a little more, then so be it. I'd rather spend a day at a lot looking over equipment that driving an hour and a half to see one machine that may be literally falling apart, without service or documentation. At this point I'd be looking at an old asplundh Chuck and duck with my financing options. Just offering a different perspective. I have been looking at his adds for weeks trying to make big decisions, and it's great to see feedback from both sides here. There's a good chance, even after this novel, I'd be a customer due to my personal spot in life.

I think Rick is right in this situation. I don't think he looks bad, just standing up for himself. I do not think most people understand the risk associated with used equipment. You can buy a used machine and it can blow up then next day at your expense. See below for extreme case...

My first chipper was a bandit 90 purchased off Craigslist from a local landscaper. Purchase price was $12,000. It was around 5 years old and had only 68 hours on it. From their description it had pretty much sat indoors getting used only a handful of times. I used this chipper for around 2-3 years. The only problem we ever had with the machine was with the display /ECM. When running the chipper would idle down on its own. Best I could figure it was loose connection in the display. I could reach behind the panel, jiggle the wiring harness going into it and it would throttle back up. I ended up having the display/ECM replaced at the bandit factory and the chipper ran fine. I preformed regular maintenance and it was used relatively lightly as I was just starting out at the time. I purchased a new 1590 from Bandit in late 2012. I wanted to keep the 90 but I really didn't have a need for a second chipper at the time. I sold the machine on this site for $16,000.

The 90 went to the Bandit factory to be inspected and then shipped to a Bandit dealer out west for pickup by the new owner. To my knowledge bandit found nothing wrong with the machine and it shipped. The new owner picked up the machine and within a week had trouble with it overheating. He called me and asked if I had any issues with the machine overheating. I never did and told him so. I don't believe I ever heard from him again until this shows up in my in box.

"Evan Hope your holidays are going well. I bought a chipper from you about 6 years ago. The chipper basically ended up being a lemon and I was a bit dissapointed that you didnt honestly represent how it functioned. It overheated the first week here and then continued to do so until I finally sold it a year and a half into it. I replaced the raidiator, put new screens on it, eventually had bandit send me a new engine which didnt fix the radiator issue. So basically it was a bandit design issue, arborist to arborist I felt screwed by you but just swallowed it since I am so far away. It would have been nice if your were more honest about the machine being a high maintenance piece of shit.
Anyways hope you but your best foot forward in the future. Best Wishes **** ****
"

I am posting this to show that no matter how good a machine is inspected it can break down at anytime. If a machine breaks down after the sale is made it is the problem of the new owner. I had said multiple times over the years that I wish I had not sold the 90. There were jobs where we needed more then 1 chipper or a smaller chipper. In 2015 I bought a Bandit 250 to start a second crew. At that point I wish I had held onto the 90 instead of having to buy a different chipper. Turns out I had been lucky to sell it when I did. It was unfortunate for the new owner but a great outcome for me.

The guy who purchased the 90 from me will never believe that it did not have overheating/radiator issues before. I'm not even a dealer and I would have at least 1 horrible review:confused:

A company I worked for sold an old chipper, and it went the same way. Soon after the purchase, it kicked the bucket. The buyer kept a good attitude with us, but it seemed that we lost some trust.
