Saying that im not sold on the spider legs.It looks like a lot of unnecessary rigging has gone on in the 4th picture when you could have gotton away with 2 slings max and if that is how all the foliage was rigged it could turn into a long day.
You finished at 3:30 (you're really going to dislike me now).Did you start that tree first thing in the morning? Did you rip and chip the trunk?The size of the foliage you where rigging where quite big so must of been large dropzone.
Sorry to bust your chops but am just wondering about a couple of things.
Work was done safely and no damage,thats the main thing!
 
No worries it's good to bust my chops every now and then.The crane was on site by around 7:30. We were getting going by around 8:45. We had a huge landing zone. We also had a large 20" chipper and a grapple loader. Disposal was a breeze, all mechanical. Its hard to tell from the pic(#4) but that top had some back lean to it. I used 3 spider legs on it. With the operator totally blind I feel it is very important to reduce any type of movement as much as possiable for my own safety as the operator can not make any movments if the load was coming my way. Another factor that I consider is how close to the cranes chart we are working, on that tree we were at around 75% of the chart putting it at critical lift. I also find that using the spider legs is fast keep in mind you are not taking any slings off the hook, just simply tying a few knots. I should have some videos in the near future.

I,ve forgotten more about kickin a$$ than all of you will ever know. If Marks got my back ya'll better watch out! As for BB I do'nt fight short guys. Just not fair.
 
I am 5'10'', which is respectable. FT on the other hand is 4' NOTHIN! And ugly to boot.

I dont fight old guys, just not fair. They get all winded, bruise easily, make excuses to their wives and friends about said bruising. Kinda sad really!
