5.11 tactical

treebing

Been here much more than a while
Location
Detroit, Mi.
I have been debating posting this for a while due to my longtime loyalty to arborwear. a few months ago, I worked on the pin oaks outside of the 5.11 tactical outlet in Michigan and got some pants as sort of a barter. They are amazing. they have great pockets, gusseted crotch, double knee. they are made of a lighter material than the arborwear, but after two months of everyday climbing, they do not seem to be worn out at all. They are considerably more mobile than arborwears. I also don't feel like such a tree dork, they make me feel like a ninja. Big plus is They are also only $35. I hate posting this because I love arborwear and what they have done for everyone, but I have to admit I think I have found a new favorite. I also just got their softshell jacket for christmas. Only a 100$ and it came with some kind of strange assasination knife. 5.11 tactical mainly markets to mercenary Blackwater types.

A friend gave me pair of 5.11s
I thought they were a bit restricting but for the most part I agree with Kevin.
Great pants and very durable.
Perfect for repelling down the side of a bulding and crashing through the window for that Saturday night coke bust.

I have been using these pants for about a year and the only wear they have is when I tripped and put the spike through the pants. They are very good to work in in the summer they do not stay wet they dry very fast.

I didn't see no $35 britches in there anywhere.

I have been using 5.11 gear for almost 5 years now at my part time police job, great stuff. i havea pair of just about everything they make, and it all is made super tough, holds up to whatever you throw at it. Havent sacrificed a pair to get dirty in a tree yet, but I might have to now. 5.11 stuff is great, I also like stuff by a brand called Propper. Same idea as 5.11, bit less money and you get a free belt with every pair. Either brand is great product, and should hold up for a while.

the 20$ pair appear to be 100% cotton, the ones I have are 65/35 ripstop. im curious to hear how the cotton ones are.

Thanks for pointing that out, I didn't realize you were talking about 65/35 ripstop. I'll report back on how I like the 100% cotton.
