250-750 million for waterpark

I hope it doesn't end up like the Xanadu complex in the Meadowlands of NJ.

You need a clue dude. All the investors bailed cuase the water under the thing is toxic. Only in North Jersey.

Right. A waterpark is Arizona. What could possibly go wrong there?

Hmmmm. Let me think. Actually, I have heard of this phenomena called evaporation. Or another one called depletion of aquifers. But maybe those haven't reached the ultra arid southwest yet.

I'm sure our state and federal governments wouldn't do anything that would waste taxpayer money or a critical natural resource like water.

Why don't they just go ahead and damn the Grand Canyon and put in a hydro-electric station. Then all those fat retirees from the midwest can watch all the "reality TV" (kind of an oxymoron don't you think) they want, have a recreational waterpark, AND destroy Creation all at once.

Sighh..

Actually, there main lender was Lehman Bros. When they went under so did $500 mil in financing. Then the market disappeared since many of the retailers they were depending on started closing stores instead of opening new ones. That it's an indoor mall instead of a big box retail outlet where NJers can drive from store to store instead of walking.

As for the toxicity, I don't think that was something just discovered after the place was started. That's been there longer than you've been climbin' trees Holly!

How true.

What a waste. With all the naturally beautiful places to see in our state, we want to spend our $ on this crap. They also want to spend millions to build a new stadium for the Cubs here in Mesa, Meanwhile our teachers are hardly getting paid or laid off and were ranked 48th in education Nationwide. &@*# the Cubs!!
