2015 Taranaki Tree Fest [Tree Climbing Film Festival]

Did someone say prizes?

Greetings all.

The 2015 version of the Taranaki Tree Fest [Tree Climbing Film Festival] is fast approaching.

I will be looking to announce prize details in the very near future; but in the mean time I am making a call for submissions...

Categories:

Tree Shenanigans;
Work Climbing;
Competition Climbing; and
Tree World.

I'm also on the lookout for scene breaks...

A 'lite' version of the 2014 Taranaki Tree Fest [Tree Climbing Film Festival] will be on show during the PNW/ISA conference at the end of next month.

At present I have about 45 minutes confirmed of what will be a 120 minute (give or take) programme. I have not yet received any Tree Shenanigan submissions...

More details as they come to hand.

PM me if you have any questions.

Guys I can't say enough how much you should support this film festival and send them your best material. I had the chance to be there for last years open and it is a really cool, innovative event. I'll be sending in a submission this year and I would encourage you to do so as well.

Thank you Treewill and Mark for your kind words. The thing we try to do over the weekend is to capture that fun and relaxed sense of community that you get at TCCs after the comp has ended, but before the scores are colated - when everyone is just hanging out and catching up, and enjoying the peace of it all. We try to do that through the weekend, including the TCC, including the film festival, including the mountain climb.

For 2015 we have, so far, entries from the UK, the USA, NZ, Italy, Spain, and Norway. It was interesting at the last festival to see how the professional film makers saw arboriculture, and how the arborist film makers saw themselves. It was also interesting to see the reaction of the audience; which was mainly manifested in a desire to go and climb a tree as soon as possible (which was the next morning at the TCC).
