The 2012 GAA TCC will be held in Gainesville GA. The comp will be located in the North East Part of GA at a beautiful family friendly park. There are 4 tennis courts, 2 base ball fields, 2 play grounds and a great pizza restaurant with in walking distance. Hotel info will be added to the GAA web site shortly. Most of the trees are White Oak and Red Oak some over 100 feet tall. This should provide for very for fast challenging events. Tree Climbers International has agreed to bring back the children's climb for this comp. We are looking for volunteers and sponsorship as well.

This is being posted by Odis Sisk. NATS instructor and 2012 GAA TCC Chairman. If you have any questions or would like more info feel free to email me at odis.sisk@gmail.com.

Yes out of state competitors will be allowed at the 2012 comp. The Masters will be for GA residents.

Ill be there along with two of my buddies from Knoxville TN. I'm not that great this will be my second comp..but I had a blast at the TUFC in Nashville. I just switched jobs from a residential company to a right of way clearence company so I'm not getting much good climbing in but luv competing and meeting other climbers.
Cory you guys were good at the comp in Nashville I was in limbwalkers group. ....I sucked at footlocking the rope wrapped around my foot and I timed out.

Just got our first sponsorship box! Thank you Arborwear for your support of the 2012 GAA TCC.

ratherbclimbing - remember footlocking is a low point event. Practice on your workclimb and AR for the best results in the pre-limbs. Getting points in the footlock is always nice though. See you there.

Come on guys, I can’t save spots; you have to fill out the paperwork like everyone else. The comp will be here soon so make sure you get signed up.

If there were one AR rescue scenario that best fits modern climbing techniques what would it be? I think everyone has the standard Open Canopy Rescue dialed in.

OldOakMan- We appreciate all prize donations. If you send me a PM I will give you the address to send the prize (if you would like I can pay shipping). Also you can designate a particular event for the prize donation. It will be a lot easier if you take the prize put it in a box and bring it when you come to the GAA TCC to compete or help. It will save shipping and you will have way more fun. Hope to see you here.

Jeff- I am expecting a repeat of last year’s work climb from you. Except this year the tree will be way taller than 50ft.

Hey Isaiah,
Nice meeting you there in Nashville. TCCs are all about having fun and learning. Sounds like you've got the bug!

Otis,
Is there a cap on the number of climbers you're allowing? I'm spreading the word at Limbwalker. I might be able to round up a few interested parties to come and climb.
Are you going to compete as well? Hope so.

Hey Cory,
We are allowing 30 climbers and still need judges/techs. Judges and Techs please follow the link to sign up as well there is a separate signup sheet there. I have had a great time competing in the past but will be focused on running a safe, fun event this year. Organizing this event has been a competition in itself. Hope to see you guys there.

That sounds fantastic Otis, I love a big work climb. Could we do a spar pole rescue or a guy stuck on a lead he was blocking down with other leads available to be tied in to just not above the tape line on the tree

Yeah i'm doing unofficial record slowest time

Dude I couldnt make 40 ft right now.

Hells yeah! I was wondering if you might be going. I'm still working on getting approval to go. Everyday closer to April 31st and Jen gets more pregnant. Thats why I can't go to Charlotte this year.
