2008 morbark cyclone 8 overheating issues.

I bought a morbark cyclone 8 used a few years ago and the engine blew. Prior to that it had been overheating especially when running dull blades. So I assumed the problem was the engine and got it replaced. I am still having the overheating issue. I am going to change the radiator in some manner but was looking to see if this was a problem for other people with the same chipper. It has Cat 1.5 which is a perkins or mitsibishi engine. If anybody has had problems with th is chipper please let me know.

The engine is new, on a hot day(I live in maine) it is pretty quick to overheat even with brand new blades, brand new air filter, and the radiator blown out. The bearings seem pretty good. The radiator is original. The radiator from morbark is quite pricey and since I am not sure that's the problem I am reluctant to go that route. I am going to take it to a radiator shop to be cleaned but I really do not think it's the issue for some reason. I drained the radiator and flushed it and their was not any obvious sign of corrosion. Any other ideas?

The gauge could be reading wrong, super common on all chippers, mostly because of vibration. The sensor could be faulty. If the rad is original it may have a plugged core so check the flow, maybe replace coolant.

I think Sean meant thermostat, maybe. Plugged radiators are very common in chippers due to the work they do in such a dusty environment. Restricted air flow can also cause issues. I know most guys mount rakes, shovels, cones, tarps, barrels and all kinds of tools to their chippers is the only reason I mentioned it. We tried to have our 2070xl rad recored with no luck (something about the number of coolant runs). The new one from the dealer was only 750 or so and very easy to install.
