Hi Guys -

I have a 2008 Ditchwitch R300 Zahn up for grabs. See specs at the following link:

https://www.ditchwitch.com/mini-skid-steer/mini-skid-steer/zahn-tool-carrier

For it's age, it's in above average condition I would say. It can be put to work tomorrow, reason for sale is we really only do big removals now and our our Kubota R420 loader only gets used. In 2018 the Ditchwitch maybe had 20 hours put on it so it needs to move. Maintenance was always stayed on top of, oil changes every 100 hours etc. In the past 8 months notable maintenance has been hydro filter, replaced hydro fluid, new starter, new regulator rectifier, new flywheel, new alternator (mostly to fix a charging issue that has now been rectified).

Has a 32hp Kohler gas motor with roughly 2800 hours I believe, comes with BMG grapple and mulch bucket. The only con is that it will need tires soon, although being foam filled you can probably easily get through the summer season with them. Pros to the machine: articulating so it's a very nice machine on lawns, can get in tight spots but still lift decent size wood, and did I mention it's very nice on lawns??!!

Looking to get around 11.5k for it, open to reasonable offers. Located right outside Seattle WA. Will help with shipping and I will deliver myself if the price is right. Please feel free to PM me, or call or text with any questions - 425.269.4279. Also have a Branch Manager 38 Special stump grinder attachment with low hours for sale that I will make a package deal on (we sub out all our stumps these days). I can help obtain financing if interested. Thanks!

Derek

How does this machine do compared to tracked mini? I assume it is easy turning on lawns but does it rut? Is it tippy ( I have a bit of a history with the MT 55)? How does it do on snow and ice have you ever used tire chains on it.

Hey Timberjack - comparing to a tracked machine is tough. They both have situations where they excel above the other. I bought this machine because I didn't want to have to bring plywood/mats to every job to save lawns. No it doesn't rut, but obviously in super boggy conditions it will just as any other machine. Being an articulating machine makes it somewhat tippy but it just takes a little getting used to. I've tipped it once in five years and it was definitely user error. The pros of being an articulating machine far outweigh the cons imo and you can actually buy duals from ditchwitch which make it much more stable, I've just never felt the need. I've used an MT55 and the ditchwitch will run circles around it, it's a very user friendly mini. As far as snow and ice and chains I couldn't answer those questions. Let me know if there's any other questions I can answer thanks.

Got a trackhoe in mind locally that I'd like to buy for a land clearing deal coming up. Willing to make a deal for someone if they're interested in the ditchwitch and stump grinding attachment. Can help line up financing. Thanks!

how do you grind stumps with the zahn? im interested. is it difficult? do you drive forward and back? I can't see sweeping like a normal stump grinder or even a tracked mini.

I recently purchased a zahn and have been very happy so far. I didn't think a stumper was possible with it. that is why I'm intrigued

Hey Treebing -

I'm willing to separate.

Of course you inch forward as you grind out the stump....the attachment has hydro hookups which sweep the wheel like any other grinder. Then your other controls control the up, down and tilt of the attachment obviously. There is a learning curve and sometimes you gotta be quick with the controls. Let me know with any other questions. Thanks! 4252694279 - text of easier.
