Just picked one up. Having it gone through by a pro on Monday. Full service and bring everything up to proper adjustment etc. What do we think it's worth? Will post pictures soon. Nothing really cosmetically wrong with it. It's probably been outside most of its life, but it doesn't look bad considering its age. Never seen one so old with three digits on the hour meter! It's in central MA.

I shouldn't be worth much more than 10k, I'll take it off your hands.. Jk it's a kick butt machine even with the small 125hp deere. You'll like it. What do you run now?

2010 200xp with 114 hp with winch. I've gotten along with it well for 5 years. I used to run an 1890 with my old boss and it's time to upgrade. Found one for what I thought was a good deal. Even though it's on the lower end of the power spectrum, it will pull in branches that would require processing to go through the 12" disc. I don't need it for chipping big wood, just being able to pull in branches with less chainsaw work would be huge. Figured if it weren't that big of an upgrade I can just sell it for what I bought it for or more.

Plus I already have the trucks and potential personnel to send out a second crew. Can't do it until you have the chipper. So, now I have it. We'll see how it goes....

Had to wait on parts for the chipper. The guy fixing it is a part retired mechanic who worked a bandit dealer forever. He really knows his shit but he doesn't move quick....

I ended up having the top feed wheel assembly replaced. Bottom feed wheel was replaced less than a year ago. Full service, new blades/hardware, everything adjusted, flipped anvil, crush cylinder repacked, last chance cables replaced, bunch of bearings replaced and a bunch of other small things. Clutch was recently redone by previous owner. Was about 6k of work with parts and labor. Lights and brakes work. Going to pull the wheels off to see what they look like, but the brakes do currently work. Tires are in good shape. Thinking of replacing all of the hydraulic lines just so I don't have to worry about it. Runs great has good engine has good compression, slows the motor right down when you idle down.

Doesn't look too bad, but it would look very nice if it got sandblasted. I am not going to get into that this year though.

Turns out it is a 1998. Had to do a bit of private eye work because I bought the chipper from NY and it didn't come with a title. Miraculously I was able to get a certificate of origin from Bandit. Still have to register it. Tried to register it previously in MA and they laughed at me....
Also, the autofeed was replaced at some point so the hours are not correct. Meter reads like 975. My guess would 2000-4000. Mechanic said at least 2000 hours.

Just bought a house and going into the slow season. Short on cheddar. I want to keep the chipper, but a box full of dough would be pretty nice to have right now. Don't need to sell it, but if someone wants to put 35k or close enough to it in my face I would part with it. I'll post pictures and a video when it's finally done. Located in central Massachusetts

Or I have my 2010 200xp. 114hp cat with winch. 2500ish hours. Pre emissions. It's a ballsy 12" disk at 114hp. I'd be sad to see her go honestly. Probably like to get 20k or so for that. Everything works as it should. pm me if interested in either. central massachusetts

What's that a 114 Cummins? I've a 115 john deere 200xp with 8000 hours that chips like a beast .. she old 01.. love her well .. definently one of the best chippers for their class.. lots of luck with everything your doin.

its a cat. Yeah it's a beast. Never had any issues with it. Would like to keep it forever honestly. But the 1890 eats more with less cutting. Hard to argue to keep the 200xp over the 1890. I'd rather keep both, as mentioned and probably will. Money can be convincing though! a little extra buffer would come in handy currently

Just had a trailer spring go on mine a couple weeks ago. When you take off the wheels and check the axle etc see what the spring hangers look like and spring packs. Hard to know how old they are on a machine of that age and NoEast rust. Mine was towed local for $90 and didn't damage anything, super lucky, but spent my birthday running around finding parts and cussing at rusted bolts.

Yes that's par for the course here. Maybe we should move to Florida..... Don't have to spend two days moving snow then watch all your stuff rust away. Power wash, fluid film and freeze your balls off. Still love the northeast for some reason...

Does the chipper condition match the hours? A lot of times the autofeed tachs get changed and the hours from the old tach don't get programmed into the new one. If it's super nice, they're probably original, if it looks like it has 5000 hours on it, it probably does.
