16 strand sling

Anyone ever make a spliced loop out of 16 strand climbing line? I saw a climber use one on his lanyard as prussic. Any specs on that??

Yes. You pull out all the core, then splice it as if you were splicing a hollow-brain endless loop. Stitch it well in the middle where the two mirror-image splices begin.

I use it for a rigging loop--it seems much too heavy for a lanyard prusik. It has a very nice feel for rigging purposes.

I have something like this for sling applications, I basically make a ring and ring, but no rings, and make both eyes about 6" long. Fantastic life support slings, can make them any length too.

But you're talking about an eye-eye sling. We're talking about a loop sling.

Or am I following wrong? That happens sometimes...

No youre right, you are talking endless loop, Im talking eye and eye sling. Not changing the thread, but I thought it was worth mentioning in this thread. Just my method of making a solid 16 strand sling.
