Is the Walleye tasty?


Man, that's a big fish! How long did you guys stay out there on the ice? A weekend?


That looks like my kind of fishing, what with the beer drinking and the catching of fish, and the shaky camera angles that confirm the effects of said beer.

We caught a bunch of smaller fish that we cleaned and ate, and yes walleye is very tasty. The best sized eating walleye is 2.5-3 pounds. 12 pounders are no good for eating but they look nice on the wall.

We were on the ice for 3 days and 2 nights with our lines in the water the whole time. We caught the 12 pounder within the first four hours and then it got real cold (-35 wind chill) and the fish just stopped moving. We caught a few fish from 6am to 11am each day but not much after then.

Dont know that Id call that a monster. Big yes, but have seen bigger. What was the overall length? Looks like a slot fish.
