Perhaps true as a rule of thumb, historically, but it has been a really wierd, slow winter and March so far, IMO, here. I've been through at least 2 recessions since I've been in business and they didn't seem to have any effect, but this is a fledgling resession and yet things seem vastly different.
 
That's because those were real recessions, this is the beginning of a depression. Last one the rural folk motored to the big cities, this time the city folk will have to walk to the country (and I'll be somewhere else).
 
Last winter was the worst in 20 years, jobs we had lined up were cancelled and we didn't turn a wheel for almost 3 months!! At the moment we have plenty of work...for both businesses...the problem has been finding people willing to work!!!

It's all "psychological" I heard. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac's Sunday takeover by the Fed and Treasury Dept. don't mean anything, as did Friday's 3rd largest bank failure in U.S. history. All in our minds and that 'liberal' media and those enviromentals are trying to scare us.

We're fine and the price of gas is going to come down in three years, so says those who made all this. Vote McCain, and we'll be safe from fetus killers and flag burners.
 
McCain is a closet Lib! Were in an economic crisis. We should hav gotten Romney, Paul, or Tancredo in there. All the Libs have already promised higher taxes and more spending, is this what we really need at this time? I am scared if any of these Libs (including McCain) get elected.

I wanted to do it the right way, bomb them the same way we did every other country we tore up, and then do what NO other country in the world does: Pick them up, dust them off, and give them billions to rebuild their country. The libs have got us over there fighting like Monkeys. We see the enemy, but cant shoot back when being fired at until we call the base and ask permission? Thats F'd up! Imagine how I feel. My son is headed over there in September. The Marines have those kids so brainwashed he can't wait to get over there.
