I'm in need of a new pair of chainsaw shoes (or two). In a thread about barefoot shoes and recreational climbing @islandarb said about non barefoot work shoes "folks a trying the wrong boots if there feet a hurting". So that made me wonder what shoes could be a good option for me.
Outside work...
I think it would be impossible to find chainsaw protective shoes that don't hurt my feet, but if you have any suggestions... I'm in need of a new pair. Maybe that's one for a new thread.
There is an surprising amount of people who like/love/wear barefoot shoes in this workfield.
My feet have changed a lot. Even for barefoot shoes they are wide. There're only a few bands that I fit. Exept for my chainsaw boots, I don't wear regular shoes anymore.
I'm glad barefoot shoes are more fashionable than they were 15 years ago. (My first pair I ordered at Soft Star Shoes. At...
I wear barefoot shoes for 15 years now. My feet don't like wearing protective chainsaw boots/shoes, but it's just what it is.
Tree climbing for fun I do on my every day, barefoot shoes (and without rope and saddle). I like it much better, as I can feel so much more with my feet. It gives me a...
Thanks for the support andalso for the critical notes.
I can see tree climbingisn't for everyone. I might be to old ;) and maybe I physicallynever get strong enough. But it ain't over till the fat lady sings. :)
In the new year I will buy my own set of climbing gear, so that I can practice on...
Took the exam yesterday. Didn't pass. I was to slow ascending the tree to make the TIP in the top of the tree.
Rationally that's OK. Emotionally I feel more sad about it than I thought I would.
I'm no fan of wearing exam gloves. You get very damp/sweaty hands and it's bad for the health of your skin beca6the gloves don't breathe. Before you know you have a yeast infection.
Wearing an electro heated body could help. When your torso is warm, your limbs are a lot warmer too. I used it when riding my motorbike during (Dutch) winters.
Oh, sorry for the mix up. The tree in the yard I climbed without spurres. I never use spurres in a tree that's not going to be taken down.
My name is pronounced the same as the first part of the name 'Susan'.
After the incident of spurring out I decided to continue climbing in my own pace and to take my schoolexams by platform instead of climbing (you can choose between those options).
Two weeks ago a friend of mine offered his yard as practice area and I climbed a walnut together with my classmate...
This question I meant in general, because without a description every unique arboricultural word in English is abracadabra (common English used in the arboricultural practice I can figure out, most of the times).
Thanks for the translation, I had no idea about what it could mean. Here that's called a camel toe (that's not a translation, in Dutch we use these English words to name a tight crotch).
Codominate ... that has to do with canopy architecture, it means that two branchesare fighting to become the top, right?
What's the English word for the other type of dominance? In Dutch, I believe, it's 'apicale dominantie' meaning that the trunk/topsuppresses the growth of side limbs.
(I...
