    Not gonna lie I completely forgot about this and it didn't come to me where I've seen those springs. Why not just contact the manufacturer and ask them?

    I've seen these same springs used in the applications I just can't think of it right now. Now that it's on my mind it'll come to me later in the day. I'll chime back in once I remember.

    I just find by the time I get a loopie adjusted properly, especially on big wood, I can hitch up a dead eye and already have my saw in the wood. Dead eyes I can get much tighter making for a cleaner setup. That's just me though.

    I was just puzzled because I have had several tight eye stable slings where the splice is always loaded and rigged heavy on them with no issues.

    That's kinda what I figured. Wasn't sure if loading a splice in that manner was somehow bad for it.

    Just bought a 5/8 loopie recently. Broke it out for a small hickory trunk last weekend and remembered why I stopped using them like 4 years ago. Dead eyes for blocking and ultra slings for everything else.

    Anybody have any experience with this bollard? Specifically the ratcheting model? I did a quick Google search with no luck.
