My loader has DPF issues. Was considering a miniskid with tree grapple to feed the chipper. I noticed many of the miniskids don't have power rotation with their grapple. I wonder what setup I should buy for chipper feeding.
Pictured is my existing set-up. I wonder if the mini would have...
Disposable hazmat suit. Too bad it's summer, you'll sweat a lot wearing it. Worth it. Keep a box in your shop, they are cheap. Poison ivy is no joke. A week coming, a week going. Depends how sensitive you are to it.
Something else they don't seem to read. The damage waiver. I hit something about 10% of the time. I just about always fix it anyway. Don't know what is under there, even if I call 811 underground utility. I'm very good at finding your cable wire for your TV/Internet. I can splice coaxial...
If you have to use a bench grinder it's all about the grinding wheel... Aluminum Oxide, NO, Diamond, NO, Cubic Boron Nitride, YES. Spend the extra $100 and get a CBN wheel, cheap grinder is fine. CBN gives the best edge, least tempering, lasts a long, long time. Don't have to hone it
I do see some guys use grapple trucks instead of chipping. I like chippng. There's always someone close by on Chipdrop that wants the mulch. My set-up with articulating loader and powered rotating grapple to feed the chipper is working well for me. No damage to lawns with the wide tires.
The state database will list the company and if they are covered or exempt. Florida database is available online. You want a release of liability form on top of proof of coverage or exemption for sub contractors. You want this if you sub your stumps, from your crane operator, or a sub climber.
In Florida, and it's probably the same if not very similar in most states, if someone works your job, they are either an employee on your payroll or a temp payroll, or a subcontractor. Any sub that you pay more then $600/year you're supposed to report with 1099 NEC. Sub's should provide proof...
Thank you for the forum. I'm in this same market. 8 month wait to get a new Carlton 7015 right now. Don't want to wait. Always wanted one, even my Vermeer salesman they've always been superior machines. Maybe it's a blessing, Bandit SG-75, $60K, 80" swing, yes please. I like the orange...
So, one of my groundsman I give a Christmas bonus. He takes off Christmas week and the bonus keeps him afloat. So, bonuses are taxed at 22% to start off. Keep in mind he will get this back when he files. He does not understand this, he wants his money and is P/O'd. I get it. You want your...
Bandit claims doing this can double the chipper knife life.
Take your new, or freshly shapened chipper knife and scuff the edge. Run a #10 bastard file perpendicular to the edge. Seems counter intuitive.
Anybody do this?
Sarasota, FL yard waste dump fees are going up quickly. $19/ton 2016, quickly rising,2018 now $29/ton. I'm hit with $300-$400 each dump now. Probably wise to get a 18" chipper at this point and give it away.
Did you choose machine? I'm in the same market right now. Anyone know the difference between the m15r and m15rx? Do the large gas chippers have the same torque?
