That's definitely my concern with the first two consumer brands, just throwing money away.
8" bucking is a lower max than I'd hoped. Which rear handle Husky do you have, with which chain, bar and battery?
For performance/ affordability I'm currently wondering - would it make sense to buy the Husky 350i Power Axe and swap a .325 sprocket/bar/chain in place of the stock 3/8? Assuming I can find a .325 18-in bar... I might be okay with trading some chain lifespan for performance? I'm guessing that...
Anyone here running one of Greenworks or Ego's larger battery saws to report on?
I have Huskys T536Li which has been very impressive. I don't want to beat it up too much in larger wood, so I'm looking for the biggest battery saws available. Stihls MSA 300 seems most powerful, but $1700 for...
Hey Steve I've been trying to, but they have new phone system that doesn't seem quite functional yet. I'll see if I get a reply to my email.
I also tried R&W Rope in New Bedford, but they don't have anybody certified to sew
Anybody know where in New England to get a sewn eye in a rope that won't take hand splice? (Sterling WorkPro 11mm)
I'd be tempted to try myself if stitching by hand is possible? Never done one tho, and my life will be hanging on it.
Thanks for any leads!
Holiday miracle indeed Mike - You are meant to be here longer doing good things in this changeable life. Much gratitude for your posting.
Feeling guilty and stupid since last week (well, most recently anyway ) when I knowingly climbed past a big rotten hollow on a red maple lead, wondering how...
Thanks for the clarification, it did seem questionable since the bodies look significantly different.
Come on now Husky bring out something that could run 18"... or even 24"
Thanks, I have heard it is a significant step up. (though a local arborist claimed they were the same saw and the increase only came from the more advanced battery??)
Either way I don't have the budget for TWO more small/mid-size battery saws, so I'm hoping for something to fill that 50 to 60cc...
As the title says I'm curious if any gossip from Husqvarna circles, what new battery saw they might be coming out with that's a step up from the 540i?
I love my T536 Li and can't wait for a really capable midsize battery saw. Of course would be a lot more economical to keep chargers and...
Count me in as interested in the Fat Bola when you get bigger rope to test.
I'm also curious if it would tend better than I can get the CBDB with adjustable bollard to, on the higher friction of Imori? (I haven't tried the elongated bollard)
Makita XCU06T - very small Battery saw that rips for its size. I'm also a featherweight guy and it's a dream having something this light that will blaze through even 6" limbs. And I haven't even done a Panther bar and chain upgrade yet.
I leave my Husqy Li 536t (also battery but 2x the weight)...
Interesting, I thought slack tending was an issue with vortex on the compact adjustable bone? Do you find it follows smoothly up the rope, and how much length your tail needs before it does?
