I was at the 2010 as a tech and got to go to the symposium. It was pretty cool having everyone in the same area doing their research. Definitely worth going if you can swing it.

I run a second truck (F350) and a dump trailer. We either put the mini in the bed of the F350 or haul it in the dump trailer. Only downside is you have to bring two setups with you to removal jobs (truck/chipper & trailer/mini). But I've found it very efficient when we're dealing with wood...
I would think subbing out material removal would be a lot more expensive than having the equipment and labor to do it yourself? I guess it depends on how often you get those jobs, but with a loader and a decent sized chipper/truck you can get jobs done very quick.
