There is a spring in the top bollard. I just don't see it doing much. I don't understand why there isn't a spring loading the whole top half. Is it true most people have the best luck with the top adjusted a few tighter than the bottom?
No didn't hurt it, I seen some discoloration and didn't want to burn it up cuz I only have a couple eye and eyes. I used it last night, milking the hyperclimb and got another 10 inches in 3 passes. I'm going to remember to order some friction cord by the foot
Braved the cold and wind trying to get the new akimbo dialed in to some broken in Samson hyperclimb 11.7, 195# with loggers on. By no means a final verdict but best setting yet is D/2. May not do the next job with it as primary multicender but it could see action as a secondary device. The...
Yeah I was being cheap I went a few pulls with 8 mm armor prusik but seen considerable damage so switched to the three strand that I don't use anymore. I just received my akimbo so I'd like to firm these ropes up.
I'm not getting the same results as everyone else from milking the hyperclimb. My most used yank appeared to be getting a little baggy so after running down it in one direction with a prusik of old three strand 6 times I only achieved about an inch of cover empty at the end. The rope obviously...
Thanks for the encouragement, I'll hold off on ordering some xstatic. I have a few Hanks of Samson hyperclimb 11.7 that should run nicely. If not xstatic and fly seem to be the go to ropes
My akimbo gets here tomorrow and I've already got anxiety from reading people experiences. I had all intentions of ordering a unicender, but the design of the akimbo was too seductive.
I bet it's going to Waterbury, Connecticut. Once the bum pays you. When did you get it? Looks like a little rust on the lower bollard? I'm about to get some of that mechanical lube for my devices.
Would you guys use a rollnlock as a wire core flipline adjuster? I currently have no rope grab on my flipline was using a Becket but have upgraded to a treemotion and no longer have the large side dees, I would like a rollnlock anyway to use for mechanical advantage during srt. If I could also...
34 year old climber can make myself available from western Connecticut but open to exciting opportunities. Recently boxed myself in by taking on a Landscape Designers clients. It started out nice not having to deal with my own brush or hauling my logs. Then checks started taking longer to get to...
