    shorts

Amazon. Edit: didn’t see Muggs post. Sappy Supplies sounds like the best place to purchase as it’s tree guy owned.

    395XP no more

My 395 pulled a 54” bar through red oak. Oiler keeps up well. Edit: The 54” is for special situations. I love a 28” bar and also run a 36” frequently.

    Bid that tree!

Right on. $1500. Took longer than I thought picking up dead sticks and hauling debris

    Bid that tree!

8 long dead spruce trees. Cut stumps ALAP, full cleanup. Good drop zones but home within reach on a few of them. Right next to the street.

    395XP no more

Well, that is some good news to come out of the whole situation.

    395XP no more

A friend at a local dealer said Husky is currently (and permanently) no longer manufacturing the 395 series. I knew it was coming but it still sucks. A shame.

    Today....

I nearly had my Unicender sent up! I love the dexterity of the Akimbo but enjoy the invulnerability of the Uni. Fortunately it was second to last cut before the job was complete.

    Today....

I don’t work on many softwoods but we raised the canopy on this Norway spruce to get it away from 2 roofs this evening. I hit a pocket of sap. It was being flung out by my battery saw and the saw cut out a few times. It was flowing out like syrup and landing on my climb line. I didn’t want my...

    Notch quickie prices

Please elaborate on this Nexium. Are they Notch factory rejects? Are they made on the same Chinese machines in the same factory but sold under a different name?

    Notch quickie prices

The Home Cheapo has them at a decent price still. Shipped to the store or your home. I find it very strange that they handle this product.

    EAB treatment post infestation

Anyone treated an ash after witnessing 20-30% canopy die back and had it recover?

    Spotted lanternfly not a problem?

Thank you for posting that article. I agree with your concern. What happens when there’s a drought AND SLF infestation? I suppose time will tell. Interesting that, if comprehended properly, the Ailanthus didn’t recover as well as our native hardwoods.

    Spotted lanternfly not a problem?

I’m seeing less SLF this year in our area. Last year was much worse. Several local trees in our neighborhood were covered in SLF last year and they seem to be doing well. I really wonder about the disease/fungus vector capabilities of the insect.

Should have used a low to ground humbolt and gutted the hinge to maximize board ft. to get a bigger check from the mill.

    Electrolyte supplements?

I got thinking a couple months ago when we took our annual vacation to the beach…… Would seawater be a good supplement/electrolyte replacement? Most sites said you’d need over a gallon to receive harmful effects. I kept reef aquariums for years and realized that saltwater is chock full of...

    Rec climbing outside of work?

A friend used to climb public park trees with a sign taped to an orange traffic cone which read “ tree research”. A group of us have climbed in public parks without being removed. Passer bys have asked us many questions though. Mostly, “are you cutting the trees down?” I felt like messing...
