I would leave it as it is! That way you can monitor that zone easily at a glance, and avoid tying knots there if possible, but tree working ropes are made to perform even with minor, or even major damage!... to keep you aloft..(I climb on worse!)

Truth! 'If a little screwdriver can't pry it apart then nothin will!! Most of us have one in the kit somewhere. I carry ALL sizes/head types!! After discovering, (..by experience, ) "the only driver you need is the one you don't have".... No more!!
