Good to climb on and just normal wear and tear? Or should I cut this section off?
I would leave it as it is! That way you can monitor that zone easily at a glance, and avoid tying knots there if possible, but tree working ropes are made to perform even with minor, or even major damage!... to keep you aloft..(I climb on worse!) If, after a few climbs on it, you still haven't...- matamorph

Truth! 'If a little screwdriver can't pry it apart then nothin will!! Most of us have one in the kit somewhere. I carry ALL sizes/head types!! After discovering, (..by experience, ) "the only driver you need is the one you don't have".... No more!! By the way, I prefer using cross heads to undo...- matamorph

Ha! THATS not a sword! If I need a sword ..(for barbarians n such,) I go here!!!: (Translate barbarian' as 'truck riffling pikey theives!.. 'pikey' meaning 'misunderstood, wholesome travelin' folk!) ...dude couldn't believe I was on him so fast from 35 ft up!... ...don't attach all those...- matamorph

Carabiner safeguard
About 7 years ago I bought two boxes (2 sizes) containing 500 each expecting to change them out often! Nope! Only ever had to replace lost ones when kit checking!!!... ...(983 rubber grommets for sale!)- matamorph

My home made awl spike to fit in my Wave! Ground from a long flat head screwdriver bit!: (Mine isn't made for that purpose, but you can make it as sharp as you like! My one will drill holes in olive trees... with a little persuasion... Wouldn't want to plunge that into my bound fisherman's!!!)- matamorph

Time for an arborist
this shows my point exactly, I know tree work is hard on ALL kit!,.. But sometimes/most times!!.. I don't have time to change watch to look pro for a client/girl-in-bar! And end up with big matte plastic "DIGITAL" monstrosity on wrist!!.. Ps: NO DIGITAL... Pps: must time eggs!!- matamorph

Scuba clips for lanyard management
Oh yeah of course! Me to... from time to time, pain in the arse is it's your lanyard... groundies can't help. Never to snag is a bit optimistic though, so minimise it as much as you need! If this clip works for you then thumbs up all round, but to me it looks as likely to gather dead twigs as...- matamorph
