Are you referring to half hitches as in a clove hitch? I guess my question is, will the clove hitch roll out in the same/similar fashion as the girth hitch? Pretty cool thoughts.

I’ll let you know. First inclination is, no, none at all haha. But it is definitely lower profile, so maybe pulling a line back through a tight crotch or an elm stub, there is no knot to give you even more trouble

I noticed the sycamore in my area (finger lakes) struggled super hard early summer. Most look like they recovered but I wonder if it is something related.
What was the size of the branch he was tied in to? How high was he on his ascent?

Good advice from @Shadowscape , I have tried this exact method for my treemo 2018. The Velcro just didn’t hold AT ALL. I solved all of this by getting a MB 2.0. Haven’t even thought of looking back lol.
