Personally I think the terms we already use are the ones that require long explanations. We use single rope technique to distinguish from doubled rope technique both of which are only using a single rope and the term doubled often gets missed placed with double and then leads to confusion about...
Isn't fixed more accurate I mean the line isn't stationary it moves with us it just doesn't run.? Right
I'm not familiar enough with other disciplines and the use of static to know whether or not it would be appropriate but if it was keep SRT and just refer to it as static rope technique.
I...
I believe if we're going to continue to use SRT or any S... it should not refer to single as I believe someone already pointed out Ddrt is a single rope technique. static or stationary perhaps but not single. unless we are going to put single rope technique at the top and then put Ddrt under it...
Donny,
I have the technique but I'm still working out the hand motions.
I'll get it but if you wanted to do a vid I'm sure a lot of people would be interested I know I'm not the only one that ties it step by step. That was the way I was taught and I never really thought anything of it until I...
Great job everyone! Thanks for an awesome day.. super bummed I can't be there tomorrow, but I already learned a bunch and can't wait to try out some new techniques. Thank you to everyone who helped make this workshop possible.
Thanks for the info.
I will have to put my hands on a few different ones at New England grows next week.
I wonder if anyone is working on the inverted Gate biner yet, that would be sweet with this swivel!
I'm kind of bummed. As sexy as it is, it's too small to pass a splice or a biner gate through.
I primarily climb on the spider jack which I leave on a pirate (wide top) biner. It just wouldn't be practical to take the SJ spacer and sling off.
I guess I could try putting the SJ on an oval and...
Sorry that was such a long post I actually started writing it before dinner around 7 and just got around to finishing it and trying to make it shorter. Lmao
Interesting, I have never thought of putting a prussick below a rappel device like that. I don't think I'd like that much because I like to be able to move my brake arm around to aid in maneuvering around limbs and such as well as raising my arm to change the friction going into the device...
cotton sucks!
It gets soaked with sweat and never dries and if it gets wet and it's cool you will freeze because it doesn't insulate at all when it's wet.
It takes forever to dry after you wash it so it wastes a ton of electricity.
It rips so easily I can't usually get more than a day or two...
I would say they are not in the same class.. the faltemier cube is a top of the line product the stein cube is imo a very well made budget minded product. I have over the years purchased every folding cube I know of and I have worked my way up from the cheapest to finally spending the money on a...
Re: Hitch Climbers\' Guide to the Canopy... Workshop

it seems like the more I look the more different versions of Yale's 11.7mm xtc 24 strand I find. the only 1 that they have on their website is blue moon but we all know Sherrill's version poison ivy there is also lime light, blue tongue, arrow frog and apparently sunburst although I haven't seen...

Hey thanks for the comments, I have used cotter pins before but I am comfortable with this setup and I inspect it including making sure the nut is tight, before I tie in every time it comes back to me. I also trust my crane op. a lot he has he has communicated to me many times that he wanted me...
