I know on my 1890. Debris gathers right above the top feed wheel and loses its ability to lower all the way. It gathers right under the plate that the piston attaches too
Yes I was concerned about the altec situation as well. Was talking to allmak earlier and he said he had a quote for around 400kish or so from one of his dealers for one.
Was messing around on the internet and came across this.

Curious to hear opinions
Rick screwed up the whole used market in the northeast. Chippers now are absurdly priced and he has people by the balls since a new chipper comes with tier 4 engines that no one wants. It’s disgusting.
Like I said have to do it in moderation. But to be frank. A tree mek is basically what we are talking about but eliminating the person for most of the time. But if you watch a lot of people who have them they use the grapple to grab a bottom piece and cut it at the bottom
Yea I’ve seen them. But not worth the money. I had a quote for 12k for a 40 yard aluminum box to be custom built. So many used dump bodies for sale for cheap. Just got to look. It’s just steel
You are probably in a area like me where logs and brush have to be separated. So dumping isn’t needed as much. Have to say having the ability to dump is nice tho the occasional demo job we get or add on to a tree job
