Pacific makes a "chainsaw kit" for their helmets, but It doesn't look like they ship to the US. Maybe you could write them an email or find a dealer who could order you one.

Cedar,
Why do you want a center mount flatbed truck? Wouldn't it be more advantageous to get a forestry unit if you're sold on a center mount? Wouldn't the rear mount be more capable, and you'd get a flatbed? Just curious, I'm not a bucket operator.
Jon,
The D4 probably wouldn't do anything your RIG doesn't do.
Mike,
I already have one of these bags and my spikes have lived in there well over a year, no holes. Metolius makes some tough gear! It is an awesome bag, your only problem will be loading it too heavy.
We use a PJ 16' dump trailer, and would buy another trailer from them. They build a very nice trailer, and don't cut corners. No matter what, you will get surface rust if it lives outside. If you keep the salt off of it, the trailer should last you a long time.
Glad to hear no one was hurt. The driver or crew must have decided to pull the tree over with way too much holding wood in the hinge. 3/4 bull rope should have 20k+ break strength, as most of us know. To pull a tree to the point of 3/4 bull rope breaking is crazy. They should have stopped to add...

Manual for 1890/1990 Calls for 180 ft pounds and the anvil at 75 ft pounds. Call bandit, I would make sure you get it right, loose knives could be catastrophic.
And what craneguy said, make sure to replace hardware.

You're right, if driving loaded tracked machines around on the nose of the tracks, there's no benefit. Keep them level, and be easy turning, and they work well. Thanks for the info on the Gehl units with duals, look like cool machines.
