    What are your dot max axle weights in Alabama? I know in ga I’d have to pull a single trip permit every time we left the shop unless we had a boom dolly. I don’t know if that’s worth the hassle for us.

    This is good. This is a rule we go by whenever setting a bucket truck up in the road as well. Better to risk a truck being hit than have someone hit a bucket truck and potentially throw a man out.

    I ended up going with the nifty sd64. We’ll keep climbing with the crane for now. I will say the sd64 is an awesome machine. It doesn’t have all the height we would like but it is a massive improvement over a 60’ utility bucket truck.

    We’ve rented one of those before for a super dead tree. It got the tree down fine and it is an awesome rugged lift. Everything was awesome except for it taking the 20k winch on my bucket truck and a 75hp tractor to pull it out of the yard. Hahah there were 24” deep ruts we spent half a day repairing

    Yeah I’ve ruled out cmc, I know they have fixed the problem, but the pricing isn’t worth the risk in my opinion. Pricing is in line with Omme and platform basket. And easy is cheaper. All of which seem to have better safety records than cmc.

    That would be the idea. We've already sort of carved out a niche for ourselves being the only tree service in town with a crane in house, We already do some subbing with crane and climber.

    Honestly a nifty is what I want, plenty of happy customers and extremely simple machine, I love the turf tires and everything about it. I have demoed one, I just wish they had a taller option. It might come down to us getting a nifty and continuing to climb with our crane when needed.

    I’ve looked long and hard at dinolift 92rxt. I feel it is the perfect lift for my area as we don’t typically have any major access constraints. But I can’t find anyone who has one. I’m concerned about what kind of issues and support that will come with the brand.
