I picked one up from treestuff just to try it out and see if I could use it. I really just thought it looked like a cool idea. After using it on one climb I made up my mind. It will always be on my belt. I have even used it out of a bucket tip tying and balancing out of reach limbs.
It makes an...
I can't thank you guys enough for the great feedback! This climb was really the pinnacle of my climbing career.
The tree is truly amazing.
The climb was difficult but unimaginably rewarding. What made it hard was the branch spacing and the awkward positions I had to throw from.
The drone...
Thanks! I had to use a small throw line in the canopy, in addition to throwing my ce lanyard. It worked very well but what you don't see is the bazillion misses I had. That's the magic of video editing.
Try a ce lanyard as a secondary climbing line and attach a small throw bag to cheat a...
Awesome, thank you so much. The tree was HUUUGE. My amazing wife filmed with a DJI Phantom 4. I just joined treebuzz yesterday to share that video. I am not a social media person but I have spent all day on here! I really appreciate all the great feedback. I posted the video under "Climb of a...
Thanks! Its the http://www.treestuff.com/store/catalog.asp?item=1849 little yella grapnel. I love it! I dont climb with out it any more. It is actually small enough that it stows nicely on your saddle, I havent had a problem with it snagging stuff either. It is really slick for moving around a...
The drawing rocks. It also demonstrates some really key rigging principles that many people dont think about. I do a lot of huge nasty willow oak removals that have been dead for a while and have hypoxilyn canker which makes them super brittle. I use many rigging rings and blocks to spead the...
Thanks! I have an amazing wife that I dont deserve. As for the climbing, I have been doing it a long time and loving it but seriously, the Haas velox, foot ascender, hitch climber, and rope wrench should take the credit. This system is super smooth and rocks for long ascents. The music is Lindsy...
A great climber is not just someone great at srt or the newest most efficient climbing system. A great climber has a full mental tool box that starts with air humping on a blakes hitch, and includes all the climbing techniques allong the way. Dont rush to learn on a HAAS type system. Build your...
Holy shit!! I have been in tree work for many years and that is the most enlightening video I have ever seen! Thank you for sharing. I train a lot of new folks coming into our industry, this will be the first video they see.
Stay safe
It took about three hours from beginning to end. It was amazing especially being from NC by way of Florida. Permission is a bit iffy. No one would give me definitive permission, but on the other hand no one told me I couldnt.
