    Vectran core, ice tail cover

Your mileage may vary, but whip dip went on pretty thick for me. May have been a pretty old can, tho, so no telling what you will experience. It dried rubbery and pretty flexible, but not overly flexible either. I didn't like it very much for this application. I ended up just leaving IT eyes...

    retracting reels

I bought one of the key-bak reels to play around with, and so far it's the bees knees. Pulls a croll up the line really well, but I just don't know how long I can expect it to last. Amazon has a good deal going on 'em. I might pick up a couple more.

    retracting reels

Sorry for resurrect such an old thread, but I'm wondering, how are these reels holding up longevity-wise?

    Vectran core, ice tail cover

I used to "double stuff" ice tail with itself, so there is room. Why do you want to use a different core? Because of the self abrasion?

    Permanent friction saver options.

No permanent rope for sure. UV eats rope pretty fast. Honestly, I'd just leave throw line over a crotch and then haul up a climb line every time with a floating crotch if I wanted to MRS. I've done it before on my back yard trees. You can use something more natural tone if you don't want to see...

    Cousin atrax splice how to

That's actually not a bad idea at all. At bare minimum you might get free cordage to jack around with.

    Aerial friction reccos

Just going for clarification: so you are saying the triple thimble for added friction near the top and then a block of some sort to redirect at the cut is a regular practice of yours, correct? Do you find it difficult to pull slack out of the thimble from the ground? Also trying to follow what...

    Aerial friction reccos

Yeah, I've been doing more speedlining when the site allows, but sometimes it's just not as practical as other times. Sometimes I end up spending as much time setting and having it tensioner as I save by not using more traditional lowering methods. For SURE has it's place, though.

    Aerial friction reccos

I've read it and it's still as relevant as the day it was posted. There's actually a bunch of really great stuff in the older articles.

    Yep....and I'd like to buy like 1, *maybe* 2

    Aerial friction reccos

Ok, so I'd like a way to add more friction at the rigging point. It's safeblock vs triple thimble, vs thunder sling, vs aerial friction brake, vs the rest of the world's worth of gear devoted to the purpose. As a recovering climbing gear junkie, I don't want to buy everything only to find...

16 Lag is amazing, but yeah, I can't always afford it (or the Mac 12). I've been living by the principle that if I drink less and less frequently, I can technically drink whatever I want on the same budget, but with weather this cold this early, I'll be wanting more than a single glass per week...

I have a wide appreciation for whiskey, but some of my favorites are: McAllen 12yr Treaty Oaks ghost hill bourbon Auchentoshan (a few different ones in that brand) knob creek buffalo trace and being that trees are my sideline gig, there is a definite upcharge for working in the cold to fund...

Ah! Ok. That makes sense. I've never done business with gap. Used to be a treestuff guy, but they don't have the same kind of inventory they used to have (the cool stuff other sites didn't stock inspired by the forums). I still like wesspur, but it looks like their shelves are pretty bare...

Dude, thanks for the thread bumps. We get by with a lil help from our friends. This cold this early. Supposedly this has broken over 200 records nationwide. SMH. If we don't get a warm spell before it gets truly cold, my winter whiskey bill is going to be outrageous.
