    The Akimbo 2

I find it to be less finicky overall, I have a couple ropes that I can run SRS and MRS without adjustment and most of the ropes I’ve tried with only a couple of exceptions are within one adjustment of where I usually keep it for my main work lines. My black widow has some glazing and that’s the...

    Bulldog OAR

Does this “break” harder like the OG runners? Where there’s the initial tension and then it opens up or can this be finessed smoother like the zigzag?

    Oak decline in central Michigan

I was referring to the MIDNR guidelines for oak wilt which changed a little while ago which now is April 15th through July 15th which from what I’ve read is based upon sapbeetle breeding/feeding season. DTE used to issue its own oak season dates but now it’s open season unless in a “high risk”...

another place that I constantly see is spar work, guys just are essentially double lanyard’d when there’s so many easy options to have an actual descendable tie in which A makes life easier and neater, and B allows for a better chance at successful rescue should something occur.

I shared the same opinion, all the fancy vented pants are great but still when it’s above 70 or good and humid hot is hot and to me the risk of heat stroke or heat related issues outweighs the benefits of protection in the tree.

in a draft back in marchish? There was discussion of chainsaw protection being required all the time not just on the ground, I think that drew heavy criticism from the monetary aspect.

    Oak decline in central Michigan

Spongy (gypsy) moth DECIMATED us from flint to port Austin in 21, I mean miles of complete defoliation by mid June. The stress of that mixed with our changing weather patterns (lack of rain, warmer than average winters allowing for constant fungal/ bacterial growth) would be my best guess, I’m...

    Helmets - Pfanner vs. Kask

I will say as far as ear pro is concerned I think pfanner is the gold standard, I find all helmets hot above 80 here but I find the pfanner to be far more comfortable

    Helmets - Pfanner vs. Kask

The new kask zeniths aren’t worth a damn, we’ve had lots of issues with the ear pro slots expanding out so anytime you flip them up they come out into your hand, the back adjustment dials have also been breaking quite often. It’s a shame because I loved the superplasma

    Best sources of employees?

I frequent indeed, problem at least in my area any of the industry buzz words (tree, forestry, apprentice, grounds, plant etc) tends to drown out most of the legitimate industry jobs with any kind of landscape, mowing, or industrial “plant” jobs. Although it’s still where most municipalities...

    Best sources of employees?

Utility snags some pretty good guys around here, pay and benefits are hard to compete with but they’re struggling to find quality entry level groundies at $21/hr with no employee cost insurance. On the other side of the coin I’ve seen some really good guys get burnt out on utility and say screw...

    The Akimbo 2

Runs well on kalimba, if you’re 180# or more I would suggest c or d for the top and 2/3/4 for the bottom depending on your climbing style.

    Best sources of employees?

Climbing comps wouldn’t be a bad place to prospect around, like others have said in this industry guys are constantly chasing the money or chasing a better employer or both.

    Boots and boot care?

wool socks are a game changer for sure, I like the Point6 socks and they’re usually on some kind of special and even cheaper if you don’t care what color is hidden in your boot.

    The Akimbo 2

Not a fan of 11.5 blue32 for SRS with this device, had to bump to almost max settings and it was either full speed or nothing. Ran beautiful MRS though.

The clip n steps I found to be slightly wider than the Evos and I find all the arbpros to run small atleast compared to Asolo’s
