Where to find aerial rescue training

Could be a worthy pitch idea for any climbing comps that come to your area to host an AR day after the comp

Where to find aerial rescue training

https://northamericantrainingsolutions.com/courses/aerial-rescue/ They’ve had solid courses in the past, both aerial lift and climbing based rescue, not sure on cost to have them come out. Otherwise could check IBEW 111, might run AR for their apprenticeship courses.

    Saw lanyard review

Definitely recommend Damien’s lanyard as well!

    Yale scandere

I caught a clip from someone the other day saying it’s better in the hand than blue 32 which is awful if you’re a gloveless climber in my opinion which was promising. Thanks for all the responses.

    There is no "industry"

It’s really quite impressive how divisive many skilled trades have become, more and more it seems that knowledge is some sort of trade secret. The effects of this will become clear as the “old school” guys begin to age out, and the knowledge will leave with them. I was once told to take...

Seems like this rope got lost in the midst of things or I’m living under a rock, anyone have experience with it?

    The Akimbo 2

The vertec is finally starting to grow on me but the form factor and more consistency with the akimbo 2 still holds its ground as my go to device currently.

    New device from ISC

In MRS is the top lever sensitive like the zigzag? In the sense where if you’re in a burr oak or mulberry or some other Velcro nonsense tree every little branch and twig can bump it a little?

    Favourite SRS rope?

Quite the opposite I find they definitely have bounce or a lot more stretch to them.

    Favourite SRS rope?

I do think ropes behave or feel different when canopy tied vs base tied but that’s just my opinion. I still prefer tachyon any of the “ash” varieties for my SRS work line, for me I like the slight “give” but it’s not necessarily a bounce to me, the orange and green “standard” tachyon I swear are...

Anyone transition from utility to residential?

Very similar situation and thought process, much appreciated feedback.

Anyone transition from utility to residential?

Anyone here transition from utility to residential or other sector? Utility here pays quite well and the benefits are solid but starting to experience mental burnout and the ever changing trimming specs that you can’t help but shake your head at (they’d like to try “enhanced” trimming again this...

    New device from ISC

Piggybacking off this, my main concern at this point is how long the keys/links will last, is it going to be similar wear to the Unicender? Somewhere in between? Or is that bottom link that bends going to be the first point to wear similar to the first akimbo’s bottom arm.

    Throw bag-line accuracy issues

Left and right accuracy especially with one hand can be affected by the non-throwing shoulder shrugging up when you go to toss, if I’m throwing one handed I still “throw” with both hands to eliminate that, different weights also play a huge part, dynaglide I throw 12oz exclusively, FTC stiff...

    FTC Freexion

Good to hear, I was just curious since the paperwork lists specifically the catalyst but was rather grey about other hitches being used. Pulled the trigger on it today, I prefer my hitch based systems in the winter/snow. Thanks for the feedback

    FTC Freexion

Awesome to hear, are you guys running it with solely the catalyst as your hitch?

    FTC Freexion

Anybody run one of these? I’ve played with the apex a bit but the compactness is pretty attractive with this.

    Cold and snowy climbing/ working

When it’s bitter cold, run a pair of nitrile gloves under your normal work gloves no more cold hands but be sure to let them breathe at lunch or between trees. A nylon windbreaker under a good hoody also when it’s real chilly traps the core heat and knocks the wind down, I can’t stand feeling...

    Epicondylitis

I’ve heard good things about the bucket of rice/sand/whatever for training extension muscles/hands/wrists instead of the $30 rubber bands every hocks anymore.
