    the size of chippers that you run over there is fascinating to me. people around here do run large drum chippers but that’s more of a specialty. a 10“ chipper would be considered xl around here and a 8“ is still considered quite large. tight old europe i guess :)

    just replaced the ring on mine, it was missing the part you described. looks like it just popped out so i guess you could pry it out carefully. i used some glue to replace it.

    i think it‘s not about what is objectively faster. use what you can and have. i don’t use a lift and i don’t miss them. they annoy me tbh.

    yew has shade needles and sun needles, if shade needles get exposed to intense sun they die. also i think they will stay for 8 years on the tree
