When the Akimbo goes public, there should be a ton of comparative information. I'm still a Major fan of the BDB, for everyday use. Now, if one of the "gofundme" folks that want to sell, due to dislike or need of $$, I'd love to compare the 2 devices side by side. Unfortunately, RE will be the...
Yes Sir, that's the 1st item I was trying to describe. The Ring and Ring was the 2nd item that I tried to explain. Thanks for the clarification on everyone's behalf. Then there's the retrievable 3 ring assembly, which is a totally different animal. Bottom line is the weight and application of...
P.S. the catalog item you posted can be assembled by an experienced splicer for 1/2 the price, depending on size and what you have in your surplus bins.
The weight and design are all factors, as are the XRing sizes and the size of the rigging ropes. If you look at the different sizes and designs at any of the Arb Distribution Co's. Such as TreeStuff.com, SherillTree.com, Wesspur.com, to get an idea of what size spar, limb, & application for the...
At least you had your hands on the top of the Spar! Just giving you a tough time, Travor! It is a very "Pucker Factor" anytime it happens. It's 2nd to spiking your calf or ankle!
In response to your question,
1) measure your burial tail
2) calculate the amount of line for your
3 Brummells
3) measure the circumstances for the X
Rings that you'll be using
4) add the 4 lengths that you will use
for the line through line, roughly...
That color combo makes me want to sell all of my other ropes, so I can buy 2 spools of the Black,Blue, & White! That's an awesome color. And Tachyon to top it off!
LMAO
I'll just put an American flag on the Barrel, and maybe an orange or red tip on the end as well, that'll keep most of them at ease! [emoji95][emoji45]
This APTA Tactical is definitely going to be a spring project for me! I've got everything, excluding the pipe! Just recently picked up a green dot laser with a finger pressure switch and scope! I'm getting really excited, now! I may have to find a finger pressure switch, thanks for the idea...
Sorry guys I was unaware that the splice was done already, it looks good! Where did you (Limb it) stagger the 3 strands in your splice? Just curious. Thanks Reed for the follow up to the correct thread.
No it doesn't, Limb it. At first I thought it was poison ivy, but I went over my splicing handbook and it's definitely Sumac. And a real bear to do the final bury. I wish I were as good an artist as Reed, I'd draw the proper stagger and bury of the 3 strands. I think Reed drew it in a previous...
I try never to follow the rules, just the instructions!
Sumac is dark green and black, where does the light green come into play? I've got 120' of Sumac that is a really dark green, Jeff Gu. When did they change the colors?
Thanks Reed, I was trying to find the proper instructions to pass on to "Limb it", it splices exactly like Cherry Bomb. I couldn't find the manufacturer, but it splices really nice, I actually like to taper the 3 strands staggered in the core while milking the tight eye.
Watch, Listen, Practice, Practice, Practice! Then Watch & Listen even more! The biggest factor is to follow the manufacturers rules and practice some more! You'll get it, just be patient and precise on your measurements. Best of Luck, to you! Don't forget to show your splices, good and bad...
