    The ITCC committee should get one, and train someone up to use it. You could get great footage of the masters climb, with the camera flying through and within the canopy of the tree in a way that you couldn't get from a bucket.

    Isn't the rule of thumb that the main line should be the weakest part of the system? On that basis alone I always step up one size for attaching the block. I don't use a porty so can't comment. MAybe if you were using multiple rigging points then it wouldn't matter. I always have each block...

    Re: Are you considering a lowering and lifting dev Reg, I think its swings and roundabouts abouts mate, you have more control of heavier bits with a grcs so you less likely to hit it, with a portawap you don't worry about hitting it but at the same time you will probably be taking smaller bits...

    In this case all the branches were butt tied and so the control rope was butt tied also, just to slow down the swing. I had a marathon to run in the afternoon so we had to get done early!

    This is the forwarder taking the third load of larger wood away. The split bits in the forground all went on my truck, only had to go a quarter mile down the road so quite a handy job. Think thats all folks.

    Still had the final section of trunk to do, so cut it in foot rings, used the block driver to push them off and we split them there and then and took them away. The included bark continued right down the trunk.
