Hi guys,
I found this trailer online for sale $3400. The seller states its 12x6 10k rated trailer. Had a couple questions I know you guys could help me out with.
1) How well or not well will a 2020 f150 v6 do towing this ? I anticipate it would do just fine unloaded but probably be somewhat...
Thanks I appreciate the tips, super helpful. - I did get an approved LLC with an EIN, just got QuickBooks, my next step is the Business checking account just to separate everything + credit card.
The ability to invoice clients/send estimates etc. instantly/electronically via quickbooks and...
How did you all decide which business checking to sign up for ? I have an approved LLC now and am ready to open my first Business checking.
Very small operation - no employees, weekends only...got to start somewhere right?
How did you all decide which bank to go with? I am in Massachusetts by...
These trailers are cool, cant seem to find one anywhere though.
( LLC, Insurance is in motion.... )
I much prefer the idea of a dump truck with a 5'ish foot skid platform between the cab and truck...Not sure if I can get a just under CDL truck + skid platform and dump body for under $35k ...
Also, this one is CDL - how appealing is a behind the cab crane like this ? never used one myself. Looks like it would need some modifications to chip into obviously.

Thanks SeanRuel, you got it right - tight streets and hills ...however I operate primarily outside the city but tons of tight driveways and some hills so it almost might as well be the same. As long as the truck handles a full load of chips and or/wood better than a 1 or 1.5 ton truck. I...
using Treetrader and Craigslist I am realizing I probably need to spend between 15k - $25k for a Chip truck. If anyone has tips or recommendations for a specific type/make truck I should pursue please do let me know as I am working on the financing part :) Would love to have something bigger...
wow thanks everyone. this is very helpful and you really got me thinking more about this so thank you.
I don't exactly have an official business as this has just been a side hustle thus far, I would have to figure out if it is even possible to get approved for financing without a real official...
not entirely opposed to financing. I just don't have any knowledge to take the first step heh. Also will only be using the equipment 2-3 times per week the most for a while anyways. perhaps a balance of buying something cash and financing the other or some is the play. Planning phase is getting...
I've been a production climber for about 12 years total for various companies (mostly 70/30 pruning/removal companies but had some steady years of 80/20 removal companies (cranes, skidsteers, rolloff dump bodys, large tree moving/landscape projects).
I just enjoy building up my weekend business...
Hey guys,
Been lurking here and climbing a long time. I am consistently getting removals on the weekend as I just enjoy working for myself when I can. I am finally ready to buy a cheap starter truck and trailer. I know that I want to remain simple as could be for now however I mostly do decent...
