Problem insects to look out for when disturbing wood piles

Found a shrew and this guy the other day, but bees are all I'm concerned with. We have fire ants here in Michigan and you don't want to disturb them, but they have easy to see/avoid mounds so they have never been a problem. Permethrin is good for keeping ticks off you, but I'm a minimalist when...

Cutting big wood with 20" bar

I use it often as my tractor will only lift pieces that are under 1100lbs or to get rounds that are too big around to fit into the buck, then I can lift them onto the splitter. For the most part though, if I can't lift it onto the splitter it's too big as it will tip the splitter(I only split...

SLD? Rapid expansion due to gasses?

Last week this cherry limb came down while I was working on the barn out front. The tree it came out of can be seen behind it, it flipped over on the way down, that had me confused as I saw it hit the ground and couldn't think of a "tree" that size coming from that direction. The tree it came...

Cutting big wood with 20" bar

Nice looking saw Tom ;). Don't you have a 24". If not I'd consider buying one as it will give you a lot more reach and help you avoid having to roll them as much. Before cross cutting them I would also "noodle" them, cut them from the bark side in towards the middle or the other side(not cutting...

    Srt for heavier climbers

Got it. Thanks for the reply. I wear gloves most times so that's not a big problem, but I was wondering as it would be nice to have a rope specifically for when it's real hot. Have a great day.

    In Search of: 192T rewind/starter

Never had a problem with mine, have it on the 192 rear handle, and on a 201cm rear handle, I've always liked it. Good to have a spare around if you need it, I would just grab another saw. Hope you're doing well.

Yep, just with many things in life, we tend to here the negative more than the positive, and all the more on the Internet.

    2005 f-550 4x4 diesel cab and chassis

The head studs may have been done on the motor since that was replaced. I'd guess since you keep everything up to Cali standards the EGR delete hasn't been done. Here's a video about bullet proofing them. Not that these motors can't go a good distance without them being BP, it just makes them...

    It was Brad.

    Modded 201tcm or $$$$ 200t?

Exactly, and they get better fuel economy. I've had all the versions of the 200's and the 201's, and sure the early 201's with a standard carb in stock form had issues, but with the timing bumped (to where it should have been at from the factory) and a muffler mod they do great.
